RI envoy to Japan deplores human trafficking case involving Indonesians

"Japan is a country which considers human trafficking a serious offense. So this case should be thoroughly investigated," the ambassador said.
He said Indonesian government agencies such as the immigration service, the police, the regional governments and manpower supplier companies concerned must investigate the case thoroughly.
The ambassador said Indonesia must be serious in investigating the case. It needed cooperation, including international cooperation, because negligence in the dispatch of workers, immigration procedures and population data could be manipulated by criminals to commit other types of crime.
"This is a serious problem because globalization at present enables the occurrence of high mobility among people in the world, and this could open the door for other types of crime to occur," the ambassador said.
