Nirmala Bonat from East Nusa Tenggara was allegedly tortured by her employer, Yim Pek Ha.
"For the time being the suspect was found guilty of tortuning her domestic helper, but still have an opportunity to make a defense plea. So that it is expected that the court would issue a verdict in May," spokesman for the Indonesian Foreign Ministry Kristiarto Soeryo Legowo said on Friday.
He made the statement in response to judge Ahktar Tahir`s finding and declaration that Yim was proven guilty as charged.
Kristiarto said the Indonesian Embassy in Malaysia has done everything to defend Nirmala Bonat, including providing her with to defense lawyers.
