Thailand hit by holiday blasts

Twenty-seven people have been injured in at least three separate explosions in Thailand's insurgency-hit south.The blasts took place on Sunday night at entertainment venues in the town of Sungai Kolok in Narathiwat province, as people celebrated the holiday season.
Devices exploded at or outside two hotels and a disco, police said.
There are frequent gun and bomb attacks in Thailand's southern-most provinces, where separatist rebels are fighting for an Islamic state.
More than 2,500 people have been killed since the violence escalated in 2004.

AlanEvans, you've convinced me you've done the work - it's authentic. I also think that you've been fair and thorough. I didn't get the sense that you were hiding your biases, or passing off other's work as your own. Or worse -- getting paid by those you cover -- so it's transparent and independent. I also think you deserve praise for being an eyewitness, and for your investigative efforts. Good stuff.

Sad that a mostly peaceful country of mostly Buddhist, would distrube by a few that want to get their own way. The way of Buddhist is not to provoke or fight, but to work to relieve problems. It amazes me that people prefer to fight and kill to change a country, rather than leaving the country and moving to a country that has what they want. Is not it easier to move and live, then to fight and die? If they want an Islamic state, move to place that is Islamic. I would think everyone would be happy. I have done this, moved one country to another to get what I wanted, to live at peace with people and myself. Hopefully there will be a peaceful resolution in South-Thailand.
