Three journalists were murdered in Oaxaca yesterday following weeks of threats. Mateo Cortes Martinez, Augustin Lopez and Flor Vasquez Lopez, workers for the newspapers 2El Imparcial del Istmo' were shot dead in the street in Tehuantepec - Salina Cruz Highway.
Yesterday, a vehicle, property of the Newspaper "El Imparcial del Istmo", was attacked. A newspaper distributor, Mateo Cortés Martínez, and two sellers, Agustín López and Flor Vásquez López, were shot dead in the street "La Noria" in Tehuantepec- Salina Cruz Highway, Oaxaca. Following weeks of threats allegedly issued by organised crime groups, the workers of the newspaper are living in fear for their security. The newspaper has demanded that special protection be provided to Gonzalo Domínguez, Information Coordinator, and Felipe Ramos, journalist, who have been special targets of the intimidating messages and threats.

Will the Mexican government do anything about this? If going by their track record, one will have a better chance at winning "El Gordo" before anyone is brought to Justice, let alone any further word on the story is published by Mexican bureaucrats.
