UK cops warn against gifts under the tree
They also warn that Christmas carol singers may in fact be bad people.
POLICE have warned families not to put presents under the Christmas tree — in case they attract burglars.Cops say gifts should be kept hidden out of sight until just before it is time to open them.
Inspector Adam Jenner, of Avon and Somerset Police, said: “Putting the presents under the Christmas tree is an invitation to thieves.”
And empty boxes from expensive gifts should not be thrown out with household rubbish “as it shows burglars exactly what they could steal”.
The force also warns householders to beware of CAROL SINGERS — in case they are crooks in disguise.
Police Community Support Officer Richard Stamp said: “There are many genuine carol singers, but if you are in any doubt keep the door shut.
“Ensure when answering the door to strangers you confirm their identity and never leave the door open and unattended, even for a second.”
I agree we should keep doors closed to carolers, but only because "Here comes Santa Claus" five inches from my face is awkward as hell.

The cops may well be on to something here... Christmas would be much more fun if there was an element of hide-and-seek involved. It's like grafting part of Easter onto Christmas, which is already largely divorced from its roots, both Pagan and Christian... ex-mas?

We have had a production line for the past few weeks making these carol singing logs to raise funds for the new Cotswold Care Hospice that is under construction in Minchinhampton.
I'm sorry that we have no stock to offer but any one feeling generous ofter viewing these pictures could send a donation to the hospice. Visit the web site at www.cotswoldcare.org.uk/

This is a serious concern particularly if this guy is creeping around your back alley.

Dear thieves,
This is not under my tree. I want Santa to PUT it there. If you visit me December 26th, remember that I also asked him for a 9mm gun and bullets.

Chessie's Diva-esque demands of cheese, pasta and three-quarters of the bed simply do not mesh with the on-the-run lifestyle of a criminal. Also, the bags under the tree are just props, although I'm impressed someone might actually think we'd have our shopping sorted by the 14th.
