Accused Pedaphile Christopher Paul Neil made a plea to Family members back home in British Columbia to get him out of the Thai Jail after a international manhunt resulted in his arrest last week.

Canadian Authourities and Neil's family may want Neil extradited to Canada (Canada has a extradition treaty with Thailand) to stand trial as a test case for Canada's Sex Tourism Law. The problem I see with this will be not only will Canadian Taxpayers have to foot the bill to transport all the child victims and their families (which could amount to 20 to 40 families) to Canada to testify against Neil.

Paying families a free trip to come to Canada will certainly open up a can of worms, most certainly resulting in everybody who had contact with Neil or not to step forward to Canadian authourities in Thailand and other nations to allege that they too are victims in order to get a "Free Asylum" ride to what the Third World see Canada as a "Golden Opportunity" for the victims and their families, who upon landing on Canadian soil will try the tried and true "Testimony for Canadian landed status and Permanent Residency".

If witnesses for the prosecution are refused, guaranteed once in Canada those who testify may decide after the trial to quickly slip away and become part of Canada's hidden illegal immigration population.

My Final Thought

Let us hope the Conservative Government and Immigration Canada stop the British Columbia Justice Department from implementing any extradition requests and let the Thai Government try Neil in Thailand, Interpol and the Thai police have video of him abusing his young victims, so it should be a speedy trial,  when convicted Neil will certainly do the time, befitting of the Crime.

This will be a warning to other pedaphiles who think once caught, can be immediately extradited back to their own country to take advantage of endless appeals common in western society while out on bail.

VANCOUVER - A Maple Ridge, B.C. man being held in a Thai jail and charged with molesting young boys had one plea to his family this weekend - "help me get out."

Christopher Paul Neil stood before the television cameras - which Thai police allowed in while they paraded him for reporters - and made a plea to his family back home.

"Take care ... to make sure I get out of here. That's all - help me get out," Neil begged, refusing any other comment on allegations that he molested underage boys.

Earlier, he appeared expressionless in a Canucks ball cap and dark glasses as he was fingerprinted.

Neil's younger brother, Matthew, later told reporters outside his Maple Ridge home that his family will stand by the accused. Their mother is upset but "is not going to abandon him," Neil said. "It is her son, despite the allegations."

Neil also said his family would like to see his brother extradited back to Canada, which has an extradition treaty with Thailand.

A spokesman for the attorney-general's office said Saturday talk of extradition is premature.

Thai authorities arrested Neil after tracking him to a one-storey rental house 320 kilometres northeast of Bangkok. They traced him via the cellphone signal of his companion, a Thai transvestite.

On Saturday, a Thai court granted a police request to detain the Canadian suspect for at least 12 days as investigators put together documents for trial.

Police said Neil, who is facing accusations of sexual abuse from three Thai boys, will remain in the country until charges are resolved.

RCMP Const. Annie Linteau said Friday that Neil has been on their radar since 2004 because of "suspected activities abroad," but no complaints have been lodged against him in the province.

"We have no information right now to suggest kids were victimized (in B.C.)," she said.

The B.C. Integrated Child Exploitation unit is actively investigating numerous tips about him and "if reasonable and probable grounds exist against Mr. Neil, then the federal government can request to try him here in Canada for specific offences," Linteau said.

Authorities in Cambodia and Vietnam have also said they want to question Neil for alleged sexual assault against minors.

Canada's sex-tourism legislation makes it a criminal offence to exploit children in foreign lands.

An English teacher, Neil left his job in South Korea on Oct. 8 when digitally unscrambled photos of a man seen in 200 photos sexually abusing young boys in Asia were released to the public.

He was photographed entering Thailand on Oct. 11. Video surveillance caught Neil checking into a hotel in Pattaya, a well-known sex tourism town, before going on the run with Oum, a 25-year old transvestite with relatives in Nakorn Rachasima.

Personally, I'd do anything I could to avoid standing trial in a country whose penal system gets such a grim review from Amnesty International. However, I find that the best way to avoid the situation entirely is to not go around touching little children!

Sadly, sex tourism (not just pedophilia) is still a huge draw for Westerners and, whilst some establishments throughout Southeast Asia cater to this particular type, most locals that I've met are most definitley NOT cool with it.

Thailand (and every part of SE Asia I've been fortunate enough to see) is a beautiful place, with friendly locals, rich art, gorgeous scenery, deep culture, excellent snorkeling, and brilliant food. Visit for those reasons, but don't get arrested...

Barry Artiste,  very good stuff. Thanks for the mention, too!

Frankly, I don't care if he's unhappy or uncomfortable in the Thai jail.  He's on film sexually abusing children, repeatedly. He abused his position of trust as a teacher. Now he wants someone to "rescue" him so he can be more comfortable in Canada, poor thing.

Nah. Let the Thai judicial system have first crack at him. Then, after he gets out of Thai jail, Canada can then try him there, too.

Thanks to you both for the flag, Jordan, what Thai authourities have to do is stop their own citizens from exploiting children who offer them up in the first place, corruption is rampant in Thailand for those who can pay.  Criminal organizations in South East Asian counties need to be eliminated and Governments must put aside political correctness and get with the program as well in prosecuting both the offender and the supplier of children equally, then and only then will this act be curtailed and hopefully eliminated.  Far too many people as PEP has succintly stated get caught and then whine, get remorseful because they got caught, find Jesus or Allah, or whoever happens to be the God Flavour of the Month and proceed to insist to foreign authourities that they are foreign nationals and demand to be sent to their own country to be tried, knowing the courts penchant in western countries for endless appeals, and ineffective prison sentences.  This incident currently going on in Asian countries where Pedaphiled and Tourist drug smuugglers face imprisonment or execution, much to the pedaphiles and smugglers countries outrage.

As far as I am concerned, smugglers and pedaphiles knew the risks in advance and deserve what ever punishment the host country metes out to them, whether imprisonment or death.  As for Mr. Canadian Diddler, it really matters not to me what they do to him, and most Canadians and decent people would agree.

I do however feel so sorry for his parents and siblings who found out through the media, it must be an undescribable pain, this child molester knew he would do this to them if caught, and still without regards to his families dignity, not to mention Canadians who may suffer the indignity of being labelled child molesters the world over speaks volumes why he needs to stay in Thailand. This child molester proceeded headlong into depravity, knowing the laws of Thailand. Western style "Kissy Face Hand Holding Counsellor Sessions" Conventional Treatment and Incarceration has proven not to work, but we all know one permanent solution Canada abolished 40 years ago. In the case of Neil, they have video and thus have him "Dead to Rights".

Thanks as always for your comments and the opportunity to let me vent.
