Can
one imagine how many men are in prison right now because of some mental
case accusing them of rape and the prosecutors falling over themselves
to believe the victim. It is every mans nightmare. It is also bad for
women who have really been raped when lawyers can blame the victim by
pointing to cases like these…mpress…

MIAMI (WSVN) — A woman’s attorney is pleading for treatment and not punishment for her client who filed a false police report.

According to authorities, 28-year-old Adriana Velasquez lied when she claimed to have suffered a brutal sexual assault and robbery, which she reported in elaborate detail. Police circulated a detailed sketch of a suspect and increased patrols, but later determined she lied to them. “She used us,” said Bill Schwartz of City of Miami Police. “She used the media to get her story out there. Her story was a lie.”

I agree with you completely, accussing a man of rape is enough to get a prosecutor to press charges. But I think it's worse than that; most cases based solely on eyewitness accounts are suspect to me. It ends up being a he-said she-said type of trial.

It gets kind of hard trusting the judicial system after a while, doesn't it?
