Business Week reports:
The Big Apple's 2005 car party has lots of stars, a couple of lowlights, and some downright oddities. Let's take a look
A spike in gas prices? Surely you jest. Judging from the new cars at the New York Auto Show, open to the public from Mar. 27 to Apr. 3, you would think gasoline was selling for a $1 a gallon. At every turn, an auto maker was showing off a superpowered version of one of its regular production cars.

of the most amazing things at this year's auto show is that almost every manufacturer had at least one hybrid (gas/electric, gas/hydrogen, etc.) on display - even Hummer had a hydrogen based h2 (though no one was around to tell me how slow it was). sadly, many of these are not in production yet and others were just prototypes/concept cars. my sister was extremely disappointed that she couldn't find the SmartCar on display at the show... any one know where i can find those?
