once upon an evening commute home, nethsupatan accompanied (the usually) grumpified maxi on the epping line. She and neth happened to sit close to a baby and his mother; maxi's back to the pair and neth facing them. Neth happened to point out to still grumpled old maxi the cute baby behind her. Maxi, in the grumpled state, grudgingly turned around to see how cute the baby actually was. As soon as she turned around to face the little one, he smiled and giggled.
"That's nice" thought maxi and turned back around. Neth pointed out that the baby had stopped giggling, so maxi turned right around to confirm. As soon as he saw maxi's face again, he started giggling and smiling some more. This repeated itself a couple more times, with confirmation of age (4 months), race (korean) and a confirmation that the giggling and smiling only happened when the baby saw maxi's face (but not the back of her head). After a short while the baby started crying loudly. And maxi turned round again to see. He stopped crying.
"giggle giggle giggle giggle" he went through tear filled eyes, and baby slobber through a smiley face.
"you are lucky!" pointed an asian female sage. "he only giggles when he sees your face, you are very lucky!"
"whaddya mean??" asked degrumpled maxi.
"he is too young to know anything about anything and yet he is very happy to see you! and only you on this carriage!" the female sage continued.
"Oooo!" neth cooed. "That's great! You'll be lucky in money! Or love!".

Lucky my a$$. Still waiting! What do babies know. But he is cute!!! *^^*
