Rolling Stone Magazine is currently compiling a list of the 100 greatest Guitar Rock Songs of all time.
Many will have their own favourites, perhaps a special song in their life when played brings one back to Memory Lane of times past, when driving the open road to Ozzy's "Crazy Train".

For me, Chuck Berry is my God,  Johnny B Goode,  blew me away at the tender age of six  in the mid 60's  driving with my  Dad with the top down to the local A&W, hence a past memory of Good Times, to Johnny B Goode.

Thanks Chuck!

This is what makes a great rock & rollguitar sound: an irresistible riff; a solo or jam that takes youhigher every time you hear it; the final power chord that pins youto the wall and makes you hit "play" again and again. Every songhere has those thrills.

But these are rock's greatest guitarmoments because of what's inside the notes: hunger, fury, despairand joy, often all at once.

You hear the blues, gospel androckabilly that came before, transormed by the need to saysomething new and loud, right away.

Rock & roll has been thesound of independence for half a century. The guitar is still itsessential, liberating voice. These are the 100 reasons why.
