Note : "2,672 = The number of panels carved in relief that decorate the ninth century Borobudur monument in Jogjakarta."
When i was at elementary school, my history teacher told me about the holdover from the ancient great civilization in Java. He said "The Borobudur Temple is considered as one of the seven wonders of the world. This temple is located at Borobudur District, South of Magelang, Central Java. Borobudur was built by Sanmaratungga in the 8th century, and belongs to Buddha Mahayana...".
I was so proud that one of indonesian culture heritage became "the seven wonders member", hey strangers.. don't mess around with Indonesia, we are the descendant of a great civilization.
Reality hurts.. it is not acceptable and can't be understood. Most reality hurts, but it's not a reality, it's just a lie... My history teacher didn't tell me the truth. check out this wiki, can you find Borobudur in there?
So what happened with our great Bhumisambharabhuddhara (the ancient name of Borobudur, meaning "Mountains of Wisdom at the ten levels of Bodhisattva")? do i have to blame the government and the local sellers for not taking good care of Her environment? or should i ask my friend to hack the wikis for not included my beloved Borobudur on the Seven Wonders List? Someone told me that Borobudur used to be the One of The Seven Wonders of World Heritage, but then.. She wasn't on the list anymore, don't know why.
Maybe it's because of us. Indonesian people, most of them ( including me) don't pay too much attention about their cultural heritage, struggling our daily life beating starvation and poverty became our first priority... why do we have to care about stones and walls from the ancient era? we can't feed our kids with those stones....
If only Gunadharma (the architect of Borobudur) still alive, he will be very dissappointed. sitting on the store laemier, tears drop from his eyes while he's watching the area around his great masterpiece became a nasty market. Next beside him, Mr. Mark Long tries to amuse the great architect...
What about me? I'm the store owner, yelled at both of them "You, Beggars... get out from my store right now or i'll call the police!!!"
