Jennifer Lopez - Louboutins Live American Music Awards 2009 HD

The 2009 AMAs (American Music Awards) were held last night at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, CA. The show featured many performances by artists such as Lady GaGa, former American Idol contestant Adam Lambert, and JLo. The most exciting parts of the show were the unexpected moments in performances, however.

Lady Gaga took to the stage for her performance of new hit "Bad Romance" that mimicked her music video dance choreography. Clad in a nude body suit with a bone-like casing with flashing lights over top, GaGa pranced around the stage before launching into the second half of her performance. GaGa smashed her way into a big glass box containing the piano for her to play during her live performance of "Speechless," a song from her upcoming album The Fame Monster. The piano was partially ablaze as she banged out her tune while smashing liquor bottles across the piano keys intermittently during the song.

Adam Lambert also shocked viewers with an overtly sexual performance of his new single "For Your Entertainment." The raunchy performance saw Lambert gyrating on the stage with his dancers around poles and cage-like structures. He even locked lips with the male keyboardist on stage in what must have been a fit of passion. Lambert also fell on stage mid-performance as he rushed up a flight of stairs that was part of his stage set during his song.

Lambert wasn't the only one to take a tumble during the AMAs: Jennifer Lopez, or JLo as she goes by, fell during a jump from her dancer's back in the middle of her performance of "Louboutins." She gracefully recovered though, getting right back up for a costume change for the rest of her song. This was her first live performance of "Louboutins," the new song that's considered to be her comeback single. Many viewers couldn't help but find irony in the situation of JLo singing about $1000 shoes as she just about fell off the stage mid-performance.

There were many other performances last night including a dramatic opening medley performance by Janet Jackson, much of which was in tribute to her late brother Michael Jackson. Shakira also wow-ed viewers with a signature-sexy dance to her new song "Give It To Me." Green Day performed their hit "Twenty-One Guns" and the Black Eyed Peas performed a duo of "Boom Boom Pow" and "Meet Me Halfway." Jay-Z and Alicia Keys performed the hit "Empire State of Mind" with Jay-Z rapping and Keys on the piano. It was Whitney Houston's performance of "I Don't Know My Own Strength" that perhaps stole the show with an understated elegance and her tremendous vocal ability.
