2009 Gotham Independent Film Awards Tonight In NYC: Live UStream
The 2009 Gotham Independent Film Awards will take place tonight at New York City's Cipriani Wall Centre celebrating independent film making and awarding outstanding achievements. The Gothams also celebrate the efforts of the Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP) that aids in the production of such films. Film fanatics will be pleased because this year the Gothams will be broadcast online live via UStream.
Among the celebrity guests in attendance at the Gothams will be Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin, Kristen Wiig, Chris Rock, the Coen Brothers, Willem Dafoe, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and Ryan Reynolds.
The Gotham Independent Film Awards mark the kick-off event for film awards each season. Distinguished juries decide the winners and present the awards at the New York City event taking place at the Cipriani Wall Centre.
The 19th Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards will be streamed live Monday Nov. 30 at 8:00 pm EST / 5:00am PST.
Natalie Portman and Stanley Tucci are just two of a number of actors and film makers who will receive career tribute awards given out at tonight's Gothams. As well as celebrating the stellar achievements of film makers and actors, the Gothams provide an indication of how well an independent film will do in the coming months depending on how it is received at the awards.
