The Oscar nominees for Best Original Song and Best Score have been released, and the list leads off with a double nomination for Randy Newman, who was nominated for songs "Almost There" and "Down in New Orleans", both produced for the animated film The Princess and the Frog.
Academy Awards Best Original Song nominees are:
- Randy Newman - "Almost There" for The Princess and the Frog.
- Randy Newman - "Down in New Orleans" for The Princess and the Frog.
- Ryan Bingham and T Bone Burnett - "The Weary Kind (Theme from Crazy Heart)" for Crazy Heart.
- Reinhardt Wagner and Frank Thomas - "Loin de Paname" from French musical Paris 36.
- Maury Yeston -"Take It All" from the musical Nine.
Academy Awards Best Original Score Nominees:
James Horner - Avatar.
Alexandre Desplat - Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Marco Beltrami and Buck Sanders - The Hurt Locker.
Hans Zimmer - Sherlock Holmes.
Michael Giacchino - Up.
