People's Choice Awards 36th - Jan 6 2010 - Press Conference Sofía Vergara, Kris Allen

The 2010 People's Choice Awards will take place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on January 6 7:30/6:30c. The two-hour CBS show will be hosted by Queen Latifa and  streamed live from the red carpet and backstage.

This year marks the 36th ceremony of the famous pop culture awards that get voted by the general public with nearly 60 million votes every year. Stars expected to be in attendance are Sacha Baron Cohen, Sandra Bullock, Carrie Underwood, American "Idols" Adam Lambert and Kris Allen, High Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Lautner, Kellan Lutz and Taylor Swift (let's just hope Kanye won't be there if she wins anything). Many are speculating whether the rising stars of vampire dramas will sideline the "oldies" like Bullock and Depp. It remains to be seen if the Twilight "gang" will sweep the majority of the awards.

Some of the favourite movies candidates are Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the Proposal, the Hangover, Inglourious Basterds and Twilight. The awards will be given out in 30 categories, among them for favourite actor, actress, new TV comedy, and music collaboration.

Here is the full list of this year's nominees.

My all-time favourite category is "Favourite web celeb," with Ashton Kutcher, Miley Cyrus and Will Ferell in the running. But wait, has not Miley Cyrus shut down her Twitter account months ago now? I guess I am rooting for Ashton Kutcher than. He is, after all, the King of Twitter.
