2012 Movie: The Trailer vs The Prophecy

The new 2012 movie trailer aired last night for the first time. 2012, a movie based on the Mayan prediction that the world will somehow end in 2012, is basically an exploitation film, a sort of 21st-Century Towering Inferno. To me, 2012 movie seems a bit... over the top, and this from a guy who loved Crank.
The 2012 prophecy and doomsday predictions come the obsevation that 2012 is the end-date of the Mayan calendar, which ends on either December 21 or 23, 2012. So, what's actually supposed to happen? Depends on who you ask. Anything from geomagnetic reversal (polar shift) to collision with another planet to a new Age of Aquarius.
The 2012 toxic sludge, though, is all too real.
From the exclusive clip, which aired tonight on MSNBC during “Countdown with Keith Olbermann,” it looks like the creative team went a bit overboard with both the extent of the damage the world undergoes and with our protagonist’s ability to safely navigate out of harm’s way.

The Mayans calendar was extremely precise and accurate for its time. Connected with the stars and planets almost to the level we are at now. I personally think that the movie is to get the masses interested in the date and then act out some phenomenon to join Mexico and Canada with the States... keep people scared and wondering what will happen... but thats just me.

apocalypse literally means "the unveiling or revelation". There are millions of people on earth right now who are experiencing the beginning of what many believe to be a great physical and spiritual change, or unveiling, taking place on earth. That change is evident in the natural world, the food we eat, the water we drink, and the consciousness of humanity that can be shown through our acts towards each other. With this great change, or re-birth, will come a time of great trials, as those in the east have begun to see through the great physical change that has already begun to take place, through changing weather patters, seismic events, and other shifts on the surface of the planet.
Remember the gift from God that is the power of the mind, through faith, goodwill, and action, to greatly affect surrounding reality. The power of many minds together, is immeasurable. Those who aim to join that power for the good of humanity will prosper, those who seek to use it for destruction will themselves be destroyed.

Maybe they should have done the prequel thing and called it "WATERWORLD BEGINS" instead. They could have just cast Kevin Costner as the hero. With a budget of 260Million I hope their ad campaign or 4 Million will inspire at least a 100 million people to wonder into theater. I am guessing if this film is anything like his last ones you might show up an hour into the film and catch all of the cool FX in the last hour. Because the first hour will feel like a long trip on a greyhound bus. There is a another film coming out at the same time called DEFCON 2012, but it has a sci-fi storyline which sounds more interesting to me.

There is a planet called Nibiru or Planet X on its way and it will bring devostation to the earth. That's what the movie's based on. There are underground facilities already built world wide and the elite people have already reiceved tickets to avoid the disasters. However, all goivernments refuse to inform people at the moment. The planet will be visible in the sky globally in 2010 and people will panic by then. Just wait for your death folks and be ready. This is not a hoax and for real. Good luck for your own survival. Do some research by typing nibiru or planet x on youtube or google.
