3 Mobile's Pushy Saleswoman

Yesterday, I had to cancel my '3' mobile subscription as I had no broadband coverage in a particular area of Kent. And, you'd think that would be just a 'five minute job', how wrong that was!

It was nearly the end of the day and I felt tired after a hard day's trawling around the shops.

I went into the phone company shop and said I just wanted to cancel my broadband subscription and he gave me the phone to speak to one of their representatives and we spent a good 20 minutes or so  'yo yoing' about: me trying to cancel it, the saleswoman trying to 'encourage me' to stay with them, her getting a bit shirty in the process, her Scottish accent getting faster and faster each time.

Me: I'd like to cancel my subscription. I've arranged a contract with another company

Pushy 3 Salewoman: WHY do you want to do THAT?

Me: I get no coverage

Pushy 3 Saleswoman: But what if we give you a discount?

Me: There is no point, I get no coverage where I need it

Pushy 3 Saleswoman: Where do you need it?

Me: TN5 ....

Pushy 3 Saleswoman: (She says nothing)

Pushy 3 Saleswoman: This is a really good deal, I can give you a discount.

Me: There is still no coverage. I have tried everywhere in the village. There is no point using '3' if I can't use it.

Pushy 3 Saleswoman: But how can you be sure that the other company has coverage? Listen, you are under a 14-day contact with them, so you can cancel and still stay with us (she wasn't going to let me go!)

And we kept going on like this in this vein, going round in circles until she tried to 'beat me down'.

Me: Look I really need to cancel this subscription.

Pushy 3 Saleswoman: This discount is really a good. I don't understand why you want to go elsewhere.

Me: But, I have no coverage!

Me: You are being pushy

Pushy 3 Saleswoman: NO I am not!

Me: Look are you going to cancel my subscription? I need to cancel my subscription. (I ended up not saying much else other than saying what I wanted, but it wasn't sinking in)

Pushy: DON'T say that twice to me!

etc.

Me: I am in a shop, it is the end of the day, this is going nowhere, I need to cancel, so I'm going to pass you to a 3 manager in this shop.

Me: Putting the phone on the table in despair. 'Pushy' still yabbering away, trying not to make me cancel.

Another customer sitting next door sympathised and so did the 3 shop assistants who said 'they were persistent'. I eventually just gave the phone to a 3 saleswoman in a shop and just said 'just her I want to cancel' and in 1 minute she passed on the message that it would be cancelled in within 72 hours!
