Steven Spielberg must have lost a bet when he made this movie. Casper is supposed to be a friendly ghost not a stalker. You'd think he would be aware of that.

The film is about a paranormal expert (Bull Pullman) who specializes in helping ghosts enter the "next world." He's hired to get rid of Casper and his three uncles from the mansion they are haunting. He moves in with his daughter (Christina Ricci) and begins the difficult process of getting rid of these ghosts. The three uncles are a headache, but Casper is very sweet, caring...and creepy.

Casper develops a crush for his new lady friend and starts flirting with her and stalking her at school. The kid is dead. What is he expecting to happen? Christina Ricci is a weirdo, but she draws the line somewhere. Or maybe not. The movie ends with Casper coming back to life, for what seems to be 10 minutes, dancing with her at a Halloween party and then kissing her before turning back to a ghost. What a strange romance between pre-teen and deceased child. And, people thought Twilight was weird. Oh, and the kid who played the "living Casper" went on to kill himself in an Eminem video.

I remember the actor playing the 'living Casper' being quite a heart throb when this came out - whatever happened to him?

He's on CW's Nikita.
