A 4x4 with a woman and a toddler somehow left the M2 in Medway and careered down an embankment.

The article does not state how this could have happened, and whether it could have been prevented. It also doesn't state whether the tyres were checked too.

The crash happened at around 6.30pm Saturday on the coastbound carriageway between junctions two (Rochester) and three (Chatham).

A woman in her 30s was seriously injured and taken to the Royal London Hospital after being cut free from the wreckage of the Range Rover by firefighters.

A toddler was also hurt, but seemed to have only suffered minor cuts and bruises.

The vehicle the woman was driving left the carriageway, crashed through the barriers and went down an embankment into Wouldham Road at Borstal, near Rochester."
