50 Shades Of Grey track tops the Official Classical Singles Chart

Literary sensation 50 Shades Of Grey has helped The Tallis Scholars' recording of Thomas Tallis’s Spem In Alium to Number 1 on the Official Classical Singles Chart.

Readers of EL James’ controversial novel have been downloading the The Tallis Scholars' version of the 16th century choral work, which features on the “playroom iPod”, in their thousands. Today it ends Luciano Pavarotti’s three week run at the top of the chart.
