NP Rank:
600+ Roberts Burns poems read out on-line
For three years BBC Scotland has been working on a project that will have over 600 of Robert Burns poems read by high profile Scots, well known celebrities and public figures.
I personally love Burns poems and will be one of the first to log-on and view the full site as the official launch date is this Sunday (25th January) when it be Robert Burns 250th anniversary.
A handful of the readings are online just now.
Prince Charles, Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond, actors Robert Carlyle, Alan Cumming, Robbie Coltrane and Brian Cox are among some who have took part.
Below I have listed a few worth a click:
The actor Robert Carlyle reads a few and says them very well, one of my personal favourites is, Jolly Beggars: Merry Andrew.
Prince Charles and Brian Cox recorded My Luve is like a Red Red Rose as well as Eddi Reader at a concert for the BBC.
The prince also read out My Heart's In The Highlands.
Cox reads one of Burns most famous poems, A Man's a Man for A' That and Tam O' Shanter.
You can find the current readings here with the rest to follow on Sunday 25th January.
All over Scotland for the full year of 2009 events will take place celebrating things like Robert Burns 250th birthday and Scottish History.
The celebrations have been titled Homecoming Scotland, asking everyone who is Scottish, or has links to Scotland, to celebrate being Scottish.
It has been designed to attract people of Scottish ancestry to visit Scotland.
The campaign is aimed at people worldwide, but more so at those living in Canada, Australia and America.

Several of our newscasters have been checking out 'haggis' today, at the local Scottish pubs. Cool video!
