The 912 Project: Glenn Beck Preaches 9 Principles and 12 Values
A new movement is swelling in the United States as a reaction to the economic crisis and it is headed by Glenn Beck. Called the 912 Project, Glenn Beck's policy emphasizes the importance of 9 principles and 12 values that he says have been lost in the USA today.
Glenn Beck claims that 12 core values are essential to a strong country and that these values have been lost in a cloud of greed and corruption. According to Beck Americans have lost their way and that the 12 values must be restored before things can get better.
The 12 values Glenn Beck is telling Americans they must embrace are:
- Honesty
- Reverence
- Hope
- Thrift
- Humility
- Charity
- Sincerity
- Moderation
- Hard Work
- Courage
- Personal Responsibility
- Gratitude
Glenn Beck is also telling Americans in all walks of life that there are 9 principles that must be lived by:
The Nine Principles
1. America is good.
2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

Watch Glenn Beck Live on Fox News: We The People, You Are Not Alone
Not everybody is a fan of Glenn Beck and the 912 Project. Several critical articles have surfaced since the Fox News show introducing the912project.com first aired.
The most consistent complaint about Beck's ideology is the way it ignores how a Republican government was in power when the "transgressions" that caused the financial collapse took place.
The site, which is currently offline as we write this post, defines essential American qualities such as believing in god, being opposed to income tax, being pro marriage (as long as your straight) and many other gems.
It’s more of the same that we’ve seen from the hard right recently, this whole socialism is bad, our money is being stolen for us, Barack
is a Communist etc etc. While some of those points might be true, what they continue to overlook is that Bush created the mess the country is in today, and Bush was the one that run up the foreign debt and started the bailouts. But no, it’s only bad now a new, black guy takes over the mess.
In the show launching the The 912 Project, Beck interviewed Chuck Norris, who earlier this week said that thousands of militia were preparing for a military takeover of the United States. If that doesn’t say batshit crazy, I’m not sure what else can.
Note: the912project.com site is still offline.

I agree with you. It is time that WE THE PEOPLE wake up and read our constitution to become aware of the rights and freedoms that this country was founded upon. It is equally important that WE THE PEOPLE become aware of how the "powers that be" in DC are successfully attempting to erode those rights and freedoms. We are loosing our voice and our power to control and determine our own lives... not from an outside attack, but rather from within. The people we sent to our state capitals and to DC to represent US, have lost site of why they were sent there and whom they represent. We pay for their salaries and their retirements, as we watch ours evaporating before our eyes...we pay for their lavish life styles, while we are growing more and more concerned about our ability to feed, shelter and educate our families and ourselves...our voices are no longer considered as they put their fat laden bills together over expensive lunches which we pay for, but are not invited to attend. WE THE PEOPLE are handing over our future to a group of thieves, who do not seem to care about promoting or preserving the values that this country was founded upon. Both parties have sold us to the highest bidder and we have paid for and continue to finance the sale! Why are we continuing to support a system that is broken and why do we silently wait for our voices to be silenced? I fear for our future on the road that we are currently on. We are better than this. We deserve better than this!

Finally - someone intelligent saying something that is right on! I agree with you 100%.
These people who blame Bush for this economy have not been listening to every News source out there. This has been brewing since the Clinton Era and is the direct result of the mortgages, prime & subprime, bad lending practices by the banks & mortgage companies, and irresponsible people buying homes they couldn't afford or taking out adjustable rate mortgages that they didn't understand. (Well, I was always taught - never sign anything until you read it thourouly and if you don't understand, consult an expert who does & will explain it to you). Ignorance is no excuse - that means you are just too lazy to do your homework!
That being said, the economy was good under Bush until 2007 & 2008. In 2007 the democrats took control of the House of Representatives and would not work with Bush or the Republicans for the next two years - it was a constant battle between the two parties which is why they got the name of the "Do Nothing Congress" ! Funny how everything went downhill when they took over and they have the nerve to blame BUSH, The president who kept us safe after the 9/11 attacks.
I am so tired of hearing how Bush put us in debt. Obama has spent more in two months than all 43 of our Presidents combined since that start of our government. And what he plans to spend in the next four years is extremely frightening. Our country will be bankrupt. Or our government will be taking 50% of our income (maybe more) to pay off the overwhelming debt that we are going to have. The people who don't believe this or see nothing wrong with it are probably the people that don't work anyway. They think they are entitled to OUR money.
If you can - Check out the TEA party website and sign up for the rally being planned all across AMERICA on April 15, 2009 (TAX return day). I just did.

The site is being attacked by intolerant anti liberty scumbags, I have found Glenn Beck to be a very sincere patriot and have listened to him since he was only on the air in the Tampa Bay area. I will also say to you people who are slobbering drunk with the Obama Koolade, If he gave a rat's ass about fixing our economy he would appoint Mitt Romney as his treasury secretary and fire that tax cheating low life he presently has in there.

Barbara,
If you look at the magintude of debt that that we where saddled with under the Bush admin, it is staggering. We doubled the national debt...and arguably had little to show for it! Crumbling infrastructure and Education that is lacking, for instance. I am angry about that state of affairs, and was angry about that while it was all going on. My failure is that I didn't make enough noise. (I would also seriously dispute your facts in the last paragraph)
It's fine to dislike the spending that is going on now, I would share that dislike. However, we are in a position where spending is required, if we are to move forward as a country. Until that can be proved wrong to me, I'm going to support Obama and reject this kind of attitude that allows people to so easily ignore the pieces of information that are not supportive of their viewpoint.
And to those that would tell me to get off here and go to Move -On.Org..I would really question the wisdom of ignoring opposing voices because you may initially disagree with what is being said. How can we have a substative debate if everyone agrees with you. No one group has all the answers and no one person is completely right. Democracy is rule by the people, and that means all the people. We have to work together, and Glenn Beck's brand of discourse is what is making that effort difficult. Don't forget that he thrives on the controversy that he creates. That is what makes me sick.

"Out of every 100 men, 10 should not be here, 80 are nothing but targets,
9 are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they the battle make...
Ah, but the one, one of them is a warrior, and he will bring the others back."

Ann,
Thank goodness you have good sence. After reading many of the posts on this site I'm getting nervous. What really gets me is that most of these people don't get this article and blog wasn't even started by someone in this country. The author is in CANADA.
Thank you for your good sense!
at 09:47 on March 22nd, 2009
I have a problem when someone makes reference that an article was started by someone in Canada. Aren.t we all on the same continent? Aren.t we each other.s biggest trading partners? Hence US Policy affects us all. I don.t have to agree with the opinion of authors, but I will not trash them because of their origin country. I am Canadian and proud of it. My wife is American and proud of it too. I happen to watch some of the FOX News shows including Glenn Beck. I think we all need to wake up and realize that this is a global community and we.re all in this together.

In God we trust, we all deserve a democracy we are not under rule the government has its secrecy its time to remember we are the people and have a right to exercise that the president does not over rule the peoples wishes he makes them happen.

In my futile attempts to get to Mr Beck's web page and the prostituting of same tells me that this man has a very serious foundation and there are a lot of sick puppies out there attempting to sabotage his thoughts and the concepts behind it. I would love to meet these retards face to face because it is obvious that their IQ's are hovering around 5.

It is with my heart felt gratitude that I watched the 912 project on Friday. Thank God Glen was moved to do such work. I, like millions of others are sick of people poisoning our air waves with trash talk about lack of faith, morals, honesty and integrity. I only hope and pray that this movement catches on and expands to the powerful movement it could be. Wouldn't it be wonderful if our politicians and business leaders would catch on.

Hello Glen, I have been watching you since you joined Fox.. i also watch Oreilly, and Hannity. I just wanted to thank you for being there and standing up for all of us, that cant.because we dont have the platform that you do.I dont wory about the recession, being on food shortages that my parent did,,standing in line to get some food for our family of 5.I know that i can do that. But what i do worry about is being attacked again. With what is running ( or ruining) our government, really worries me. I dont want our country to be a socialist state, there is alredy too much intervention by the government, telling us what and when we can do the things that we have been living by for a long time.,And who IS running the white house? nancy pelossi, and henry reed? It seems that everyone that is picked for some kind of job, has something in their background ,that makes them very unlikely to do it right. Oboma s speeches when he was out there running for President, was for a change...well, he is changeing things, thats for sure, but he failed to tell us what kind of changes he had in mind..and now its too late...Thank you for the 912 project, and i know that the tennis shoes you wear, keep you grounded..Your mother must be very proud of you..as my family is.Thank God for the Fox network, it may just save all of america.
Sincerely,, a proud to be an American.

We need to pull behind Glenn Beck and email Foxnews and tell them how we need His voice to be heard more and more and at PRIMETIME..He would gain so much more popularity for FOX and his show..
We need to unite behind this message..We are FREE Men and Women and the FED's need to know we out number them 50 to 1..

UNITED WE STAND!
Wouldn't it be amazing to see a cross country tour with Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity!!! Wow!
We need to take our country back!
at 22:42 on March 13th, 2009
As long as Hannity just drives the bus, he's a little too 'paranoid' for me.
at 03:59 on March 14th, 2009
ditto that
at 05:23 on March 14th, 2009
Funny how being passionate about one's beliefs and values gets called "paranoid." I just wish those weasels in Washington, who don't have any honor OR values, could be half as paranoid!
at 21:32 on March 22nd, 2009
If the people in Washington were even just a little paranoid, our country would not be in the mess it is in now. It seems as though they have no shame, or conscience of some of the actions they are, or have been taking for years. It is time for them to be held accountable for such actions. They are there to supposedly represent the American people.
Lets make them answer for all their actions to do while in office. If they are in the wrong, then they should be corrected, and made public about their actions, and asked to step aside so somebody that really cares about the country can step in and get the job done right.
I would imagine there would be a lot of them getting even more paranoid than what they say the people who disagree with them are.
Just a thought. Have a good day.

Jeannie,
It would be better if we could replace "Berry, Moe and Shirley" with Rush, Glenn and Sean.

Yes! Right On!
Maybe we could hire Bill O'Reilly to come along and hand out Kool Aid!
NOT!!!
at 14:42 on March 19th, 2009
I agree about the cross country trip and maybe we should try a tea party along the way. The Senate and Congress are most dishonest and we need to boot them all out before they ruin the country. It is We The People, not Congress or Senate.
Great going Glenn, someone need to stand up for us.
at 19:15 on March 13th, 2009
Maybe now we can take America back the way it was for 200 years.
at 19:24 on March 13th, 2009
Hallelujah! for Glenn Beck. At last someone who has the courage and passion to risk his life, family, and treasure for the United States of America as she was founded.
I encourage everyone to check out David Barton, who has dedicated his life to the research and documentary proof of the founding of our nation as a Christian nation, including the biographical proof of 95% of the Founding Fathers as strong, believing Christians. The website is WALLBUILDERS.COM.
There are many items of support for you to use and share.
This site gives great support to Glenn Beck and The 912 Project.
at 09:59 on March 14th, 2009
Here I sit thinking of writing Beck and telling him what a wonderful show of smoke and mirrors. I'm looking for where I want to post and run across Youngbloods post of "Finallly, someone willing ot rish their lives for their country!"
That spun me up worse than Becks show. Lots of tears, whole hearted touchy feely, let's all get matching t-shirts and bumper stickers. That'll show'em. Show them what? You're gulible enough to buy a T-Shirt from Beck instead of Obama? Beck's a good guy and I am sure sincere in his love for his country, but when someone like you Youngblood, think he is the newest masiah, of course he's not the first, 52% of Americans populatin elected the first Cream of Wheat masiah as President.
That he's so readilly willing to crawl up on the cross for us and save America by...What? How? When? That he's willing to risk his life family and treasures for the United States of America as she was founded?
How many troops are there in Iran? Today, Right now? How many in Afghanistan, the Persion Gulf, The 38th paralel in Korea? how many National guard troops are doing second and third tours over seas because this country hasn't taken care of its Veterans as it's promised since the Korean "Police Action" and true patriots and capable warriors aren't so stupid that they'd enlist in an army that's expendable before it's even committed to a target?
Okay, foget about the current troops and disabeled veterans who HAVE the balls to put thier lives on the line for the Untied States of America and have to take orders from idiots like Barney Franks every day and carry them out realizing the stupidity and futility of it, yet they Charlie Mike!
You know what I saw last night? I saw " I got this idea, but I got no idea what it really is or how or what I'm gonna do about it, but I'm going to con FOX management into letting me hype this up and jack the ratings through the roof!" Other than that, I saw twp patriots who have already bled and sacrificed for this country and the Budwieser said it (Navy Seal) while no one had enough since to pick up on it. With out evil, we ain't gonna have no heroes, so we're going to always generate enemies who are of the Evil Axis by American Standards so that we can have Heroes, true heroes so people like Obama can detract or attention frm the real issues.
Where there any proactive suggestions made about what to do to take back our country?
Where any leaders or organizers promoted to make suggestions and to organize an actual possitive acentuating the proactive political action committee tht could go to Washington with the power of the peoplebehind them?
He didn't even have the knowledge that twenty years ago, the church was the corner stone of the communities and that we utilize that knowledge to go back to the church as our Area of Organization. That the church should return to being the entity that brings peole back together for the common good of man and the very salvation of mans soul by serving the church.
Oh I just love our Military men and women so much I just bust into Tammi Baker when I see them. Lemme tell you something. I've stepped in a lot of bovine scatology in my time, but that's about the tallest pile of it I've ever gotten on my boots. You see, I am a veteran. A disabeled on. I see very day those beautiful individuals who served and are serving this country fight their country every day to simply get America to live up to her promise. You defend me, I'lll take care of your health the rest of your life. Which generally isn't long because if your service doesn't kill you, the care will.
Beck hasn't got a clue and niether do three quarters of you ready to put on your t-shirts, slap on your bumper stickers, storm Wasghington DC and drink the kool aid. The other 25% are smart enough to kow 6that opening ones mouth will effect his disability, his treatment, probably bring on an IRS audit that will break you of what little dignity you may have left.
Do you know you could land a 747 on Pennsylvania Avenue and they wouldn't even hear it in theSenate, Congress of oral office? So what makes you think anything you could go to DC and jump up and down and wave your Arms like the Gopher Indians would garner anyones attention or make any changes?
The election is over people and YOU told the politicians you wanted change. That's what you're getting...change that creates fear of your goverment and not change that retores your faith.
Go ahead, lie to me. Tell me you don't fear your goverment. Stand advised, I won't buy into it because I know a hell f a lot of stand up tough guys who fought for this country. who get up daily and put on a badge and serve and protect this country and if you had their respect they'd tell you, 'Hell yeah, I'm scared!' And they KNOW they are rapidly approaching the point of what side of that badge they stand on.
I'm wasing my time and someone elses space.
Trully God Speed. God Bless our troops and God Bless America!
Semper Fedelis
Mike McQueen
P.S. I don't care if they come after me, I can't get them to do anything about problems I got now. If they come and get me, they'll at least have to heal me to prolong my misery.
I'd also ask that NO ONE take umbrage or offense at my comments. They aren't personal and weren't meant to be. They are realistic and meant to simply tell you, until you put a physical change in our goverment, you aren't going to do anything but die tired. I to believe in America and even more important, the people that make her. But I fear the tyranny Ben Franklin warned us about is getting closer to all our doors. Frankly, I'm scared for this country. If I had any answers, I'd sing them to the high heavens. But like post office eployees, we voted them in, we'll play Holy Hell getting the out!
at 13:16 on March 14th, 2009
Mr. McQueen,
Thank you for your service and your sacrifice.
I agree with you that most Americans are asleep and don't have a clue. The fact is we have to take responsibility for the way things are now because we let it get to this state.
I don't care which side of the isle you're on, Democrat or Republican, you're going to play the political game of re-election politics and not ever vote in the best interest of America.
Term limits is the answer. Vote them all out after two terms.
If you have a few minutes, visit my website www.opinionsbyme.com and check out my blog.
at 19:59 on March 15th, 2009
I agree with you. Term limits will certainly help put an end to the career politicians...imagine DC without Barney Franks and Harry Reeds and would someone please explain Nancy Polosy to me....no, don't bother. Career politicians are plentiful on both sides of the political fence and it is time that we send them ALL home, after their two terms are up...I also agree that WE THE PEOPLE let it get this bad...we have been so busy working to pay our taxes, our mortgages and take care of our families, that we failed to REALLY notice what a mess these fools we sent to DC were making! we are either part of the problem or part of the solution...it is time to find the solution to this mess. term limits seems like a very good beginning! I will visit your website. Thanks
at 18:59 on March 14th, 2009
Yes a sorry state it is that we are now in! I see only one way out REVOLUTION
at 21:11 on March 14th, 2009
Mr. McQueen:
For all the bad we have here; we have a lot more good. The news does not report the good, it does not get sensational repeat interest. But is there some other country you think would be better? You and I both are able to state out thoughts and feelings.
If Glenn Beck was in fact just an attention monger, he might have tried to sway people to do as he directed. He did not. If he stirred up some emotions in others as he did you, than that is good also, at least we are not dead (in the mind).
I hope you do go to Fox news and are successful. We should all be doing something, if not, we are accepting the status quo! Organize yourself and be prepared, find neighbors that you can speak with that will hear your opinions. We all get angry and have ideas, some are better that others.
I give Glenn Beck credit for trying to get people talking to each other. I hope it continues. You did watch the show, so I can only think you are thinking that things are not going in the right way. You might find a group that meet, close to where you live.
If you are looking for a leader, maybe you could ask God. It is not Glenn Beck. I think Beck was trying to invoke in us, times are very tough on many and many others are falling off the map and no one seems to care. Perhaps if we all reached beyond our locked door and came out to meet and know our neighbors we just might begin again to start to get connected.
I hope you were at least honored after your service to the USA. You and all others deserve respect for what you gave as service men for our country.
God Bless.
