The 912 Project: Glenn Beck Preaches 9 Principles and 12 Values

A new movement is swelling in the United States as a reaction to the economic crisis and it is headed by Glenn Beck. Called the 912 Project, Glenn Beck's policy emphasizes the importance of 9 principles and 12 values that he says have been lost in the USA today.
Glenn Beck claims that 12 core values are essential to a strong country and that these values have been lost in a cloud of greed and corruption. According to Beck Americans have lost their way and that the 12 values must be restored before things can get better.
The 12 values Glenn Beck is telling Americans they must embrace are:
- Honesty
- Reverence
- Hope
- Thrift
- Humility
- Charity
- Sincerity
- Moderation
- Hard Work
- Courage
- Personal Responsibility
- Gratitude
Glenn Beck is also telling Americans in all walks of life that there are 9 principles that must be lived by:
The Nine Principles
1. America is good.
2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

Not everybody is a fan of Glenn Beck and the 912 Project. Several critical articles have surfaced since the Fox News show introducing the912project.com first aired.
The most consistent complaint about Beck's ideology is the way it ignores how a Republican government was in power when the "transgressions" that caused the financial collapse took place.
The site, which is currently offline as we write this post, defines essential American qualities such as believing in god, being opposed to income tax, being pro marriage (as long as your straight) and many other gems.
It’s more of the same that we’ve seen from the hard right recently, this whole socialism is bad, our money is being stolen for us, Barack
is a Communist etc etc. While some of those points might be true, what they continue to overlook is that Bush created the mess the country is in today, and Bush was the one that run up the foreign debt and started the bailouts. But no, it’s only bad now a new, black guy takes over the mess.
In the show launching the The 912 Project, Beck interviewed Chuck Norris, who earlier this week said that thousands of militia were preparing for a military takeover of the United States. If that doesn’t say batshit crazy, I’m not sure what else can.

We voted for change and so far all we have gotten is more of the same, Washington spending spending and more spending, Will you tell me where you see change? New Preseident, just as dumb as the last one. He has no idea how to controll congress or the house. Remember Us so called dem have been in charge of the money for the last two years. Or did you not know the President can't spend money only are beloved senate and house. Every one knew bonuses where going to be paid and now the idiot I voted for acts like he is so shocked!!! I am one of the many who have changed my mind about OBUTMA!! This is not change I can believe in. He made fun of Bush letting bonuses be paid. But he is doing the same thing. He made fun of McCain saying the economy was basically sound and now he is saying the same thing. Please Please where is the change. Oh and now he is thinking of taking away health care from our Vets!! Health care for all but those that deserve it the most!!!!!!!!!!!!

My feelings are the same as yours about Glenn Beck. A great book to read about our great country being found by Godly men on Godly principles is ( The Light and the Glory by Peter Marshall and David Manuel. Our nation is headed in the wrong direction.

Mr. Youngblood, I am a VA Nurse and believe you have never entered the doors of a VA medical center. If you are a veteran, you are likely not a combat veteran as they have no trouble being served. Sitting your service out state side or in Germany doesn't place you at the top of the triage list. Just like any ER, the sickest and most injured are treated first.
The VA has the latest equipment, first to have computerized documentation to reduce errors, is the leader in providing research and a leader in Spinal Cord, Brain Injury and prostthetics care in the US. By the way Walter Reid is not a VA hospital.
The VA today is nothing like the VA in the 80's. If you were a combat Veteran you would have known that. I speak to veterans everyday and have for years. You do not sound like anyone I serve. I hope you like your new socialized medicine. It will have the same framework as the VAMC.
By the way, if you want people to read you email, be brief or put things in bullets.

Thank God Glenn Beck went to Fox News so he can be more open and not be censored for his core values. There is a silent majority that is finally waking up, thanks to Glenn's courage to speak up. These are the things that are burning in real patriot's hearts. I have been so fustrated with the liberal leftmedia in the past year. If they were fair and objective I believe the election would have been closer or a different outcome. This also could have been Divine Providence to let the people see what can happen to the country if they are mesmerized by a personality and not paying attention to the issues. Hopefully the new 912 Project will grow so massive that it will scare the out of control Senate and Congress to the center and salvage our nation before the Chinese take it over from all the debt we are owing them. I watched the program tonight. Keep it going.

I wish we had "level-headed" people in the Government like, O'Reilly, Beck, Hannity, Huckabee, Sheriff Joe Apaio, Chuck Noris, and maybe even Lou Dobbs.
It is so good to see Glenn Beck on FOX (now I have no reason to switch to CNN at 7 to see him).

Hi. Just finished writing a book and its just gone to be published. It's called Deal W/ it!. Tells about whats happened to our nation and how we can fix it. Also w/ much humor and sarcasm we all can relate to stuff. Buy the book, spread the word, we are tired of being pushed aside by the left and by the way Deal W/ it! is judgment day. I am 75 yrs. old and voted Republican (the lesser of the two evils) If the government
would put back the money that was taken out of Social Security the Senior's wouldn't
have to worry. I've not heard this even discussed. As of yet I have not seen one
thing that our present government is doing or going to do for us. I do notice that every
time we get a SS raise our medicare, medigap, and prescription ins. go's up just
high enough to take every penny of the raise, so my wife and I live on the same
amount we have had for the past years. So when I hear of these cost of living
raises I wonder what it would be like to have one. If it wasn't for some part
time work I am able to get we would be hurting. OK got that off my chest.
Mr. Beck wife and I really enjoy your input, and feel you and O'Reilly do
make a pair.

thanks for calling us together.i'm 62 on disability,i can't walk.anything i can do i'll be happy to.i'm a vet we've raised six kids and when i got sick five years ago we had to refi our house.when the AR loan changed countrywide slammed us and would not work with us.
two years ago we had a buyer through a real estate and they turned us down to foreclose.they in turn sold the house for much more than what they were owed.this is not my country.this has become a big con run by well dressed fast talkers who lie right in your face and the voters are ok with it as long as they bring home the bacon.hence the earmarks.

Couldn't get in the 912 project website - must be over loaded. This just shows how many Americans are fed up with the way our politicians are ruining this country. We found out about the 912 project by accident, but will be sharing this with our family and friends. We support your efforts in this project 100%, Glen, and God bless you for coming up with this idea. At last conservative Americans will have a voice in running their country.
I'm guessing that once I can get on the 912 project web site I will be able to add my name to the effort. I will also send a picture.

I was born in France but have lived here most of my life, served in the military, and have paid my fair share of taxes... but what I find appalling is how truly ignorant and lazy so many americans, and that includes me, are when it comes to excercising our RIGHTS! We have allowed the Politicians from both Parties to take over. Not only are they dishonest but they have taken advantage of our indifference and ignorance. It's time to stop mouthing off about pairing one party against the other and start forming a true Party of the People, By the People, and For the People. Words have no real power unless there is ACTION! And that's what's wrong, too much talk and little action. I've been self employed for twenty years and now I'm unemployed and can't get unemployment benefits. I haven't had health insurance for over ten years. Haven't seen a doctor for ten years... so who gives a dam? You can talk all you want about working hard and all the patriotic crap, but the bottom line is the average Joe/Joesy and the military are on the bottom and those on top and that includes "The Media Kings" are laughing all the way to the bank. I wonder if O'reilly, Hannity, and yes you too Glenn, have seen a Doctor lately. The kinds of money you guys make is ludicrous, and that my friend is exactly what has become the Cancer of our country.....GREED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you Richard. We have just lived thru the past 8 years of a very corrupt administration where companies directly tied to the Prez/VP like Halliburton, got tons of no bid contracts as a 'reward', where private meetings were held with oil execs and the Veep, and voila, oil prices/profits shot up, where our freedoms were erroded at an unprecidented rate. We were lied to daily, those who disagreed, were called "un-American" or "terrorist-loving" Rule by fear was the rule of the day. No listening was done, twice the American people overwhelmingly rejected amnesty for illegals, no one really listened.
Now, that era is over, and we have a new administration. NOTHING has changed other than the party affiliation and the faces of those in charge...the same lies are going on, the same corruption, the same "favors" to supporters, the same fear-mongering, the same "hit lists". As for amnesty for illegals, despite them getting buried in Americans expressing their opinions AGAINST it, Reid/Pelosi/Obama are going to march forward and push it thru one way or the other, if they have to do it under the cover of the middle of the night.
It is time we get rid of or severely damage the 2 party system by bringing more viable parties into the mix so more voices are heard,and elected officials START to listen to their constituents.

I've read your comments about 5 times and I'm having a hard time seeing the connection between you not having health care and the money the "Media Kings" make. Because they make a lot of money they should pay for your health care? I'm self-employed and pay through the nose for health care. But the answer is tort reform and massive tax deductions in order to lower costs and have more of my own money. How would you like someone telling you the money you made while being self-employed as being greedy? Money isn't a zero-sum game. Just because some have doesn't mean others don't. Respectfully, stop being near-sighted.

Thanks for the excellent point Tom. I've worked in healthcare for over 12 years...it is the lawyers and insurace companies driving up the cost of health insurance. Tort reform would be an great start to reducing the cost. Whining about the salary of others is nothing more than taking the side of BO to "spread the wealth".

Speaking as a self employed person I had enough sense to put money back for hard times and to pay for insurance. It is my responsibilty and no one elses. I will agree that there are greedy people in this world but I believe that there are a whole lot more that are envious of what others have. I am proud of what I have accomplished. No one has handed me anything. And that my dear is the American way of doing things.

Richard, I am a VA RN and I would encourage you to take all your service documentation, discharge papers, loss of job, income etc. to the nearest VA medical center and make an appointment with the Veterans benefits person. They will do a means test that will provide you with your eligibility for care. Any catastrophic illness or injury, regardless of whether it happened in the service or not, qualifies you for care. You will be rated with 10% to 100% service connection, based on multiple criteria. Yearly income, lack of insurance, service related illness or injury all factor in. You would likely qualify for a primary care team where you can see a physician. No one will come to you. You must go to them and provide them with all the necessary paper work. Many veterans have not because they ask not.
Good luck, go even if you can't find all your paper work and they can tell you who to contact to get it. SC

I would like to know what we can actually do. I have written, called, left messages, everything I can think of to tell our leaders how unhappy I am with everything. I never hear back from anyone. Nancy Pelosi's office was a real treat to talk to! We need to get a petition going, organize marches in Washington and all around the country, or SOMETHING to make them listen to us. I loved the Boston Tea Parties that have been going on, although they have received little coverage. Glenn, please tell us what we can do to make our voices heard. My individual efforts are getting NO results. It's time for us to march in the streets, demand they stop spending our children's future, encourage China NOT to lend us any more money, and quit selling our souls to a government which is becoming corrupt with our money and power. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the government were held accountable for their actions!!!

Hmmm didn't hear about the Boston Tea Parties going on - I will have to look into that. We need to take back the government. We need to start over. Only know one knows how to do that. "We need Change" was a joke. Putting a "new" politician in place of an old one does not change make!!!!
I love what has inspired Glenn Beck but I'm not sure how to get it going in my life. With the people I know. We can't do this alone. I'll give it a try.
