The 912 Project: Glenn Beck Preaches 9 Principles and 12 Values

A new movement is swelling in the United States as a reaction to the economic crisis and it is headed by Glenn Beck. Called the 912 Project, Glenn Beck's policy emphasizes the importance of 9 principles and 12 values that he says have been lost in the USA today.
Glenn Beck claims that 12 core values are essential to a strong country and that these values have been lost in a cloud of greed and corruption. According to Beck Americans have lost their way and that the 12 values must be restored before things can get better.
The 12 values Glenn Beck is telling Americans they must embrace are:
- Honesty
- Reverence
- Hope
- Thrift
- Humility
- Charity
- Sincerity
- Moderation
- Hard Work
- Courage
- Personal Responsibility
- Gratitude
Glenn Beck is also telling Americans in all walks of life that there are 9 principles that must be lived by:
The Nine Principles
1. America is good.
2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

Not everybody is a fan of Glenn Beck and the 912 Project. Several critical articles have surfaced since the Fox News show introducing the912project.com first aired.
The most consistent complaint about Beck's ideology is the way it ignores how a Republican government was in power when the "transgressions" that caused the financial collapse took place.
The site, which is currently offline as we write this post, defines essential American qualities such as believing in god, being opposed to income tax, being pro marriage (as long as your straight) and many other gems.
It’s more of the same that we’ve seen from the hard right recently, this whole socialism is bad, our money is being stolen for us, Barack
is a Communist etc etc. While some of those points might be true, what they continue to overlook is that Bush created the mess the country is in today, and Bush was the one that run up the foreign debt and started the bailouts. But no, it’s only bad now a new, black guy takes over the mess.
In the show launching the The 912 Project, Beck interviewed Chuck Norris, who earlier this week said that thousands of militia were preparing for a military takeover of the United States. If that doesn’t say batshit crazy, I’m not sure what else can.

The Dems, even by your account, have had majority rule for two years and have done what with it?
While I am still fairly young, I can't remember any Dem president worth a squat. I have to admit that Clinton had a few good points but he was an American disgrace when it comes to his own morals and ethics.
Do you not see that Obama is doing just what you are saying the Repubs have always done. Spend, spend, spend. We will see in a few short years what Obama's legacy will be.
I do not like Obama, did not vote for him.I think he is a liar, like most politicians, and he is lacking in moral and values. But, he is the president and I wish him well, because if he does his job well, we all benefit.
My point being, politicians have lost touch with the will of the people. ALL politicians Repubs and Dems and if you think one party is better than the other right now, you are fooling yourself. They are looking out for themselves first and the rest of us second.
We must find a way to put people in office who honestly want to help America.

Clinton had sex with an intern and left office with a balanced budget and projected surplus. That didn't happen by magic, he made an unpopular decision on taxes, and it worked. As for spending, you have to look at the 'why' or it's irrelevant. Obama is spending in an effort to remedy a nightmare engineered by Neocons and Republicans. Bush's spending was primarily a handout to the rich and the Military Industrial Complex. Obama's legacy is already one of transparent government and respect for science. The contributions fully funded stem cell research might ultimately bring is in itself worth having Obama in the White House IMHO.

In the meantime, Clinton balanced the budget and raised the standard of living for working Americans. Turns out that Newt Gingrich at the time was busy leaving his cancer-ridden wife for another woman. Gotta love those 'morals.' Speaking of impeachment, we've never had a President more deserving of it than Bush. Pelosi dropped the ball on that one.

I am truly an advocate of free will and think that the American public exercised that right from the moment the "Messiah" stepped onto the stage and continued right through election day. The majority of Americans exercised their free will to not pay attention, not listen closely, not question, not demand answers. Now here we are and in a bigger mess than we've been, probably ever. And now we have Obama saying that it's not really that bad. Are you kidding me? Well, we should have expected him to change his tune as soon as the pressure was being put on him. That tells me that we actually are doing something, we are being heard, we do have a voice and it's loud. It may take time to see the big changes that we all want, but as long as we continue to speak, write to our "leaders" in Washington, (regardless if they answer our pleas), and join together in this effort, we will be successful. Don't be overwhelmed by the hard fight; our soldiers aren't and we can't be either. Remember, we are soldiers also in the domestic battle for our country. Thank you, Glenn, for listening to us, for providing us the forum we need. We love you. God, our Father, bless our country and us, too.

Okay, all the rhetoric is good but we need more than hot air. We need plans for action. Talking and anger will get us nowhere.
Besides writing to our congessmen what are we supposed to do? March on Washington and then what?

I think Glen is right, that if we voice our concerns out loud. Talk about them with our friends and neighbors. Then more people will realize that there is another point of view. That were not all drinking BO's kool-aid. Too many times people keep there thoughts to themselves, they don't want to cause trouble or call attention to themselves. So we look like a bunch of sheep just following along with the crowd instead of making our voice heard. I can only hope and pray that the people who voted for Nancy Pelosi and others will WAKE UP and vote these people out of office!

Did anyone hear that Pelosi is thinking about anouther "Stimulas Package"? Did you know that if you freely give to charities that you will be deducting a lower amount off your taxes? Did anyone notice that President Obama is doing a 160 from - we're in a crisis so he can push his agenda without recourse to the economy is slowly improving? You can't push a 2nd Stimulus Package with that attitude. I truly feel that our government has stepped way over the bounds and that they are trying to settle our nerves down. I personally think it's a little to late. The values and principle of our US Government leaders are not being held to OUR standards. It's time to e-mail them, check on how they are voting and if they are not voting in your best interest or have your same values, call them on it and if they don't respond to your questioning their values then get your family, friends and neighbors together and everyone sign a letter or an e-mail. Hi Tina and everyone in the north, I'm pleased to see that Canada is noticing what is going on down south. I am part of this movement, last night in Pittsburgh over 600 people met in 5 different locations. We have now a national website here:

I have been wondering what it would take to wake the nation up. The wife and me have conservative values and live a conservative lifestyle. Now that I'm laidoff I suppose I'll still have to pay for the extravagant lifestyle of of those who decided to live above their means. What if I decide to stop paying taxes for the US goverment to throw away? I really don't mind paying taxes. I just have a problem when the arrogant and apparrently ignorant so called leaders of what WE want to call the greatest country in the world can so easily spend a TRILLION dollars. A plane crashed in a field in Penn. on 9/11/01, it makes me wonder if the country would have been better off if it had of found its target and took out a couple of hundred so called leaders. If we keep following them we will all be in the ditch.

This has absolutely NOTHING to do with the election or a gang of Conservative Republicans. This has everything to do with AMERICANS. It has everything to do with the majority of AMERICANS that feel they are being cast asside and forgotten about. That their voices are not being heard. I may speak for a lot of Americans when I say, why bother, my voice does not matter. They are going to do what ever they want so why even bother waste the energy to speak up. Our society has made the majority of Americans feel like our voice is a minority and it doesn't matter. This has everything to do with the awakening of the majority of the American public that now feel like they do have a voice and there are millions of other Americans that share that same voice. That we can do something about what is going on. The average person is NOT political. I would think that you would have had a little more class. Unless all you want to do is create some sort of anger or hate messages to follow that comment. I want to thank Glenn for what he is doing. I am AMERICAN that does have a voice. Thank you Glenn!

Of course it does. the majority of Americans elected Obama. A large majority. And, Obama's approval rating is still very high. What does that tell you? It tells me that the same people who wanted the McCain/Palin fundamentalist nightmare to carry on Bush's tidal wave of pandering and destruction, are going off the rails watching Obama dismantle their holy war on science and actually honor the Constitution. Dude, Glenn Beck does not hold himself accountable for his actions, What is the big deal about what Obama is doing? We had 6 straight years of insane Republican spending which got us essentially NOTHING. The stimulus is a big dollar solution to an enormous problem. You fix a huge problem with a huge solution.

The election was won by promises that obama had made during his campaign. Most have not been carried through. Especially the transparent administration. Elections will come again, and it does not matter what your political party is, people must vote to remove the ones that dont follow through with promises, and replace them with ones that will. Count us in! My wife and I -even before we heard of this "912 Project"- were talking about getting together with neighbors & friends to discuss the very disturbing direction our great Country has taken. We have discussed this on an individual basis with our family (6 children, 11 grandchildren) and we are almost in total agreement. We have been writing letters, making calls, talking up, etc., etc. about many issues that will affect our not only our children but most certainly our grandchildren. We are worried that the USA that we thought we knew will no longer be recognizable in the very near future..
ACCOLADES TO GLEN BECK- He has sensed quite intuitively that he is not alone. THE 912 PROJECT WILL SUCCEED- maybe not right away- but without a doubt will change the face of our nation for the better and for the GOOD of every one of its concerned citizens. AND WHO KNOWS? IT MIGHT EVEN SPAWN THE NEXT GREAT CANDIDATES TO LEAD US OUT OF THE WILDERNESS OF SPIRITUAL FATIGUE INTO THE LAND OF THE 9 PRINCIPLES & 12 VALUES.

Glenn is right-those people in Washington have forgotten that they work for us. We need to restore honesty, ethics and integrity in Washington- and everywhere else in this country. I don't want big government to control every aspect of my life- that's not what our founding fathers intended. It's time we came together to initiate some of the the legislative changes that will allow us to take back our country.
-Term limits-career politicians are more interested in serving another term than in serving the people who voted for them.
-End the electoral college and make presidential elections by popular vote-the electoral college system is antiquated, no longer serves the purpose for which it was designed, and scews the vote in favor of the liberal left.
-A flat income tax-so that taxes are fair to everyone
