NP Rank:
999 Emergency "I'm late for the panto"
With time-wasting 999 calls becoming an issue for emergency services across the UK we perhaps shouldn't be surprised that celebrities make such calls when things are not quite going their way.
Linda Lusardi the former topless model turned actress called the police on 999 to ask if she could use the hard shoulder to get to work as the Wicked Witch in panto - she got short shrift from the police who have labeled her actions as time wasting.
When Linda Lusardi realised a traffic jam was going to make her late for her performance as the Wicked Queen in panto, she decided there was only one way the show could go on.
The former topless model dialled 999 and asked if it was possible to use the hard shoulder on the M25 to bypass hundreds of queueing vehicles.
Sadly for her, the reply from police was one familiar to generations of panto fans - Oh no, it isn't.
An officer told Linda, 50, hubby Sam Kane and daughter Lucy — who also star in Snow White — to wait on the M25 like everyone else.
They finally arrived and Saturday’s show in High Wycombe, Bucks, started half hour late. A 999 source said: “She is not beyond the law.”
