This is an 11-volume work (10 numbered volumes, plus one supplement) of the messages and papers of the presidents of the US from 1787 through 1902. The main 10 volumes of this edition were published in 1902, and the supplemental volume was published in 1904.

This image is from Volume VI, which I own personally, and this image was taken of an engraving printed in the book, with my Nikon D50 in Macro mode, with my Tamron 300mm zoom lens set to Macro mode also, on a tripod with a remote control, then the image was HDR'd and manipulated in Photoshop to get the effect I liked.

This image is quite similar to the one used on the "old" $5, I like is much better than the one now on the $5.

To honor this man, you really have to go to the on-line book at this address and read some of the messages he wrote, you won't regret it
