Academy of Cinema and Television Student Appears in the Disney Movie "Hatching Pete" by PRStaff

Chandler Fausette is an acting student on the Utah Satellite campus of the Academy of Cinema and Television. Chandler was discovered by Liz Knight, Director and owner of KnightStar Talent Mgmt., at an A.C.T. audition.

"Hatching Pete" -- Disney Channel Original Movie -- was Chandler's second Disney production to appear in. The movie stars Jason Dolley ("Cory in the House," "Minutemen") and Mitchel Musso ("Hannah Montana"). The story is about a shy high school student who's struggling to be noticed, especially by a special girl he's admired for so long. Then his best friend, Poole, must quietly take
a break from performing as the school's chicken mascot, and unbeknownst to the fans, he convinces Pete to stand in for him.

Once Pete dons the chicken suit, a whole new outgoing personality emerges, and it not only captivates the school but the whole town. Meanwhile Poole reaps the benefits of Pete's dynamic performances, including a new girlfriend. Now unassuming Pete must decide if he wants everyone to know who the funny guy truly is. A Salty Pictures production, "Hatching Pete" was written by Paul W. Cooper ("The Note"), Dan Fybel and Rich Rinaldi (Disney's "Emperor's New School") and is directed by
Stuart Gillard (Disney Channel's "Twitches Too"). Sheri Singer (Disney Channel's "Return to Halloweentown") is the executive producer and Randy Sutter ("The Circuit") is the producer.

More Breaking News from the Academy of Cinema and Television. . .

Four Students Win Film Roles With Major Hollywood Studio

Four students of the Academy of Cinema and Television have been cast in the upcoming major studio horror films The Between and Crypt. The producers and directors Jimmy Flowers (an ACT instructor) and Craig McMahon (director of Machined for Lionsgate) were impressed with the talent at ACT. In fact, only ACT students, past and present, were invited to attend the auditions.

“I know what kind of training ACT provides, and so when it was time to cast youth actors, I knew that ACT was the place to look,” Flowers said.

In The Between, ACT student Nate Chrisman was cast as the evil ghost known as Knife Boy, while Brenna Justine will play his ethereal high school girlfriend. Victoria Cosner also landed a large role as the Drowned Girl ghost, one of the few good spirits in the film’s supernatural story. Three ACT students — Anna Clark, Caiti Currey, and Lexie Rich — were also cast as understudies for the film. For more information on The Between, visit http://www.thebetweenmovie.com.

It is always motivating for me to see that the acting and preparation classes that academies like the Academy of Cinema and Television give their students is paying off in real industry work. My own son is very interested in acting and we are paying close attention to the progress of several students at this academy to possibly enroll him one day soon. We know it costs money, but with work coming as soon as it has for some of these teens it would be well worth the investment.

It is always wonderful to see such wonderful, bright, and energetic kids land such great roles such as Disney movies. The Academy of Cinema and Television should be very proud of Chandler. Disney is such a wholesome and great company and the movies are appropriate for all age levels. I know with my children it is a daily channel that is on one of our televisions. This Disney website is also a great link to check out for kids and parents alike. http://home.disney.go.com/tv/index
