Actress Heather Locklear Was Arrested For Hit-And-Run

TMZ.com reports actress Heather Locklear, 48, has been arrested for hit-and-run after a crash was heard near North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village, California. The police located a knocked over "no parking" sign in the area. The car in question was believed to be the black BMW belonging to Locklear. The Melrose Place actress was arrested for hit-and-run after police determined that the damage to the BMW was consistent with the damage to the road sign. It is alleged the crash happened very close to Locklear's home.

Locklear now faces a misdemeanour charge for not notifying authorities about the crash. She is not out on bail, but was released after being cited. The actress is due to appear in court in May. Locklear's lawyer says his client was never taken to custody, and it is not yet determined who was driving the vehicle at the time of the hit-and-run.

Earlier this month, tabloids reported that Locklear was splitting with her partner Jack Wagner. The rumours of the split were later refuted by a representative for the actress.

In 2008, Locklear was arrested for driving under the influence of legally prescribed drugs in California. The actress pleaded guilty to reckless driving and was given three years informal probation for the incident. The DUI charges were dismissed by the district attorney.

Locklear was treated for depression in 2008.
