American Idol runner-up, Adam Lambert, is expected to come out and announce his sexual orientation using the medium of Rolling Stone magazine.

Explaining Lambert's decision to come out now versus what seems like a small eternity ago, a well-placed source at the bible of rock 'n' roll tells Page Six, "He didn't want it to be an issue during [Idol], but he's fine with his sexuality."

Lambert's sexuality has been a ongoing, underlying question in the press only perpetuated by recent comments by attention-deprived American Idol judge Kara Dioguardi. The seemingly out-of-place judge dropped the bomb during her appearance on The View last Friday, May 22.

"I don't think that Adam was ever in [the closet]," the Idol judge shares on Friday's The View. "I think he was always openly out. I mean, from what I've seen... I never thought he wasn't."

Lambert recently fueled curiousity regarding his sexual orientation saying, "keep speculating," and that "maybe" he would soon set the record straight, note the pun.

A spokesperson for Rolling Stone told Page Six, "We don't comment on future covers," while Lambert's rep did not respond to the gossip column's request for comment.

Clay Aiken, who confirmed his sexuality after much speculation in September 2008, took a dig at Lambert's performance on his blog writing, "I thought my ears would bleed. Contrived, awful and slightly frightening. I wasn't really a fan and found myself surprised whenever folks told me they liked him." The post was quickly deleted followed by an apology by the second season runner-up.

Lambert soon replied to the quip, lambasting Aiken.

"I don't know Clay," he told "Access Hollywood". "I'm glad he's getting headlines now because he wasn't before. If he wants to ride my coattails about it, good for him."

Keeping the Idol news fresh, Jordan Sparks recently revealed that she wants to collaborate with Lambert. Last season's Idol champ praised Lambert's performances saying, "Not since Freddie Mercury or Steven Tyler has there been a voice like his," and that "it would be really cool to do something with him and maybe release my inner rockstar."

I support 100% Adam's sexual orientation. His sexuality don't stop him from singing the way he sings.

Adam being gay doesn't stop him from appealing to my eyes and ears.  I mean, the guy is hot and so talented.  How can you not love him?

Adam Lambert shouldn't need to discuss being gay --or not, any more than anyone else should need to discuss being straight --or not!  This "coming out" is crap, and the issue should not need to be addressed publicly about anyone, for any reason, EVER.  It's RUDE, period.  Personally, I wish Adam would never comment on his sexuality.  But the media --as always, must continually harp on the nonessential to keep the pot boiling, whether it matters --or not.  Wouldn't it be a hoot if after all this hype, he said he was straight! That'd leave everyone "speculating" for a while!  LMAO

Here in NZ we can't wait for his album! We just love his voice man...his rendition of MAd World was so maddening! Awesome. Go go Glambert! Yes my husband is a true blue Freddie Mercury fan and he reckon Adam possesses sooooooo much talent. He can sing heavy metal, ballad , RNB ... he will be popular for a long time...
