As an increasing number of Internet users rely daily on social media as an ambitious 21st Century method to promote themselves and communicate with others, they also stand the risk of becoming targeted victims of cybercrimes.

Such was the case with Los Angeles entertainer Chris LaVrar on May 24 when he said someone hacked into his Facebook account and, in a swift attack, stole his identity.
