ALA Awards 2010: Newbery, Caldecott Medal Award Winners & List

American Library Association announced the winners of ALA awards 2010 today for the top books, audiobooks, and video for children and young adults. Rebecca Stead won the John Newbery Medal for most outstanding contribution to children's literature - "When You Reach Me". Jerry Pinkney won the Randolph Caldecott Metal for most distinguished American picture book for children - "The Lion & the Mouse". 

Before the award winners were officially announced, news of Rebecca Stead winning this year's Newbery award was leaked via Twitter.
