Alaina Reed Hall, the actress best known as Rose from 227, has died from breast cancer. The actress was perhaps best known for the role of Rose on the popular 80s sitcom 227, which starred Marla Gibbs, Helen Martin, and Regina King.

In addition to 227, Alaina Reed Hall played Olivia on Sesame Street for many years. After 227, Reed Hall stayed in the public spotlight by hosting a cooking show titled A Whole Lotta Soul. She also made several more appearances in films and TV shows.

Alaina Reed Hall was married three times. She was married to actor Kevin Peter Hall, whom she met on the set of 227. In 1991, Kevin Peter Hall died from AIDS-related complications. Hall was later married to Tamim Amini.

In recent years, Alaina Reed Hall battled breast cancer. She was 63.

Letters of condolence be sent to her husband Mr. Tamim Amini at 10044 Woodley Ave. North Hills, CA 91343

She will be missed and was a loveable favorite of mine when I was a child and youth growing up.  May the Lord be with her and her family.

So sorry to hear about her passing.  I met her years and years ago when her husband at the time was in teh same hospital room as my father.  We have lost a truly BEAUTIFUL and GENUINE person.  I remember she brought my nieces - who were very young at the time.....REAL FEATHERS FROM BIG BIRD!  God Bless her and her family!
