Alexis Houston in Not Related to Whitney Houston and is Not Having An Affair With Matt Lauer, Despite Earlier Story

On May 13 Hollyscoop released a story about the recent Matt Lauer cheating scandal, saying that he had cheated with Whitney Houston's step sister Alexis Houston and that they met on the set of The Today Show in October 2007. He then had apparently booked a hotel for Alexis to accompany him on a trip to South Carolina in 2008 and then later on a trip to Los Angeles later that year.

During the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver this year, Hollyscoop said that Matt heard Alexis Houston was in town and really made an effort to see her privately.

However, this entire story seems to have no truth to it at all.

Whitney Houston's rep released a comment saying Alexis Houston is not even related to Whitney in any way.

"Alexis Houston has no relation to Whitney in any way, shape or form," the rep told E! News.

Alexis Houston has also spoken out, saying she never had any affair with Matt Lauer and does not even remember meeting him.

The allegations regarding Ms. Houston and Mr. Lauer are false. If they have met at the Today Show, in the past, that would be the extent of their interaction."

Matt Lauer Finally Speaks

Even Matt Lauer has finally spoken out about the cheating allegations, saying he and his wife Annette Roque say this whole story is a work of fiction and that Matt has never moved out of the family home and has never cheated.

"I am living in my apartment with Annette and my children as a family and a couple," Lauer tells PEOPLE exclusively in an interview from France
"Have we had a completely perfect, easy marriage? No. But the stories you've read over the years are not true," Lauer said.

He apparently did not even party hard while in Vancouver for the Olympic Games.
