Ali campbell, Sly And Robbie Live In Tel Aviv November 20th
Two exciting gigs will be held in Tel Aviv's Hangar 11 club in less than a month. The evening of November 20 will see performances by British singer Ali Campbell, UB40's former lead singer, and Sly & Robbie, one of the world's greatest reggae musicians and producers who have recorded albums and performed with thousands of artists for years.
Last January, 49-year-old Campbell with the famous nasalizing voice, retired from the UB40 band, which he founded in 1973 at the age of 19.
The band's spokesman said at the time that Campbell was unable to fully commit to the group, and that the rest of the band's members were disappointed and saddened by the decision after working as a family for almost 30 years.
During his gig in Israel, Campbell is expected to perform all of his former band's hits, this time with different musicians on the stage.
Jamaica's Sly & Robbie are two of the world's busiest musicians. A drummer and a bass guitar player, their career began in the 1970s and they became two of the most popular studio instrumentalists in the music industry in general, and in the reggae industry in particular.
