Former CBS3 anchor Alycia Lane has been hired as a reporter and weekend anchor for KNBC in Los Angeles. Today was her first day at work since she was fired by CBS3 in January last year, amidst being charged with assaulting a police officer, for which she was later acquitted, according to philly.com.

Lane’s acrimonious relationship with CBS3 ended in a court case where she sued the station for defamation and privacy invasion. Her former co-anchor Larry Mendte was sentenced to six months of house arrest after pleading guilty to  reading Lane's private emails and  publicizing  personal information to various media agencies.

KNBC are optimistic about Lane’s contributions to the newsroom:

“Alycia is an experienced anchor and skilled reporter who has a tremendous ability to engage and connect with the audience,” KNBC President/General Manager Craig Robinson said in a press release.
