The American Idol on black and white TV.

Barack Obama will have to provide a lot more than empty rhetoric and having all his followers chanting kumbyya if he is ever to succeed to the presidency.

A black leader just because he or she is black sitting in the White House will be no more effective than a black mayor who is elected just because they are black or any white person elected because they are white.
I hold the media responsible for most of this nonsense. One of the first headlines I remember asked, "Is America Ready For A Black President." At the time I could only think that, no. America would not be ready for a black president anymore than America would be ready for a white president. Both suggest a government based on racial and bigoted policy of the victim mentality over substantial inclusive consideration. One can argue the feelings of those who are led to believe they have been disenfranchised due to their ethnic persuasion, but the government of the United States is not based on racial segregation or a racial hierarchy. America may have a history of a racial divide but that id is not entrenched in the governing principles.
Black Democrats have proven in this run up that they are as racially entrenched as they have always blamed white America to be. [You'll notice I wrote black Democrats and not black America] I feel sorry for the Obama's because they are being used by the Democrats and especially the black Democrats to shame America not elevate America. The racial politics of this election is going to be more divisive to the American people not because Barack's skin is a shade darker than white [the lady who bore him
and gave him life and raised him up was a white woman]or that his politics are left of centre. It's going to backlash because the Democrats are using Barack to guilt their way into the White House and have made it a question of racism over sexism. If you don't vote for Obama your a racist. And by extension, if you don't vote for Hillary your a misogynist lout. These are not facts rather images sent out with the innuendo. The unspoken message everyone but the senders admit to hearing. The idea of the Democrats as moral authority is a tired and transparent sham. A rouse that they have offered in place of any workable policy.
If Barack Obama wanted to be more to the American people than a perception of being the exception to the status quo he should have made his mandate based on the issues facing the American people and not on holding himself up as a victim of American society and therefore the best person to resolve [exploit] any racial divide. Barack Obama may well win the nomination but if so, during the presidential campaign a great many people who believed the rhetoric over lack of detail will begin to migrate to where the work will be done.
We all like pretty images and no offense to the working men and women of America but, they don't get their picture on the cover of the latest fashion magazine. Their hair is mussed and they may have the odd broken finger nail and just might not care for the moment whether or not they're using the right fork or spoon. If they get acknowledged at all it's for their hard work. Just like construction tools are designed around the best way of getting the job done. Tour a few job sites and you see which makes of equipment made the grade. They're not the one on TV shouting buy me.
Barack Obama doesn't even tell the people he's made in America. He says he was assembled in America and gives credit to the likes of Jeremiah Wright and various other black discontented Americans who feel their efforts in black counter culture should have rewarded them with positions of power and influence. Read the language in his books. Such language has been swept under the media rug and replaced with misdirection and or suggesting in undefined terms that it's all more the entrenched American culture of racism from white America. But how much effort did Barack have to put forth rising above that subjective racism? How old is he? What experience does he have? And he's running for President of the United States of America. And he's a victim! Man. There's a lot of folks in my neighbourhood who would love to be that victim of society. They're living on five hundred a month and will never afford decent education, or any kind of secure employment, or living in anything more expensive than a flop house. And they're white working class. Ask them if they got a free ride to success for being born white. Just stand back a ways when you do. You'll likely get punched.
Barack Obama had best man up and become that leader many believe him to be. If he makes it to the White House there are a great many black people who will want after four years something more than having to be able to say, “We had a black President” with nothing else to show for it. The black Americans I've spoken with dearly want the black socialisation of the ghetto mentality to be removed from the black consciousness and all the self-destructiveness of the counter-culture of the drugs, gangsta imagery, crime, prison, the anti-education and other anti-social self defeating imagery eradicated through black to black activism. Blaming the whites for dragging their great great great grandfather in chains to America just wont cut it any more. Nor will a victim in the White House. Talk to the young black men of the armed services, black teachers, black lawyers, black doctors, the black worker. There is pride out there for getting the job done. It just needs to be harnessed. It would really help if the black musicians wrote and played music that uplifted and included a society of equals rather than re-enforcing the base and starkness of the ghetto stereotype. It's hard to defeat a negative image you created for yourself. I know. I work with the homeless and the addicted and the abused. I know if you give people enough love and hope and positive direction that they in turn express love and hope and positiveness. It's about society not race and Barack Obama needs to get on the issues before the fans switch channels or jump to the next American idol.

In the morning gather thyself to purpose,
in the evening discuss the manner,
that thou hast been this day,
in word, work, and thought.
