America's Next Top Model - Cycle 11 - Episode 3 Review

This is a review for the "Ladder of Model Success" episode of America’s Next Top Model - Cycle 11.  I would have called it a review of Episode 2 ,but the ANTM site refers to this as Episode 3. I guess because last week's was two hours long?  I don't know...

Here is my play by play of the episode..Amy's thoughts will be added tomorrow.

First photo shoot of the day, they meet Benny.  They say he's the “best of the best” ..you know the guy they always use for the Matrix type shoots. The models participate in “poses” – they need to think outside…and inside the box. They will learn from Bree.  We learn that Bree is not only a model but an entertainer – she specializes in “extreme” posing. ..she shows the models how to pose…”extreme” style...

Here is how they do in practice:

Hannah from Alaska -is “lost in translation”

Kimora Simmon's look alike Sheena– oh boy – she might get herself in trouble with the Hustler poses.  But Bree likes her poses. Sheena says she’s not a hooch..hmmm…k think that’ll be your new nickname...I will now call you Hooch

that's all I remember...we continue into the evening now...

Uh oh girls kissing in the pool! – they play dare…first dare is for Clark and scary Elina to kiss. Hannah from Alaska is not pleased. I kissed a girl and I liked it..that song plays in my head…the girls enjoyed it.  good ol ANTM drama!

Next dare – is Isis and Hannah from Alaska. uh ohhhh Hannah from Alaska is uncomfortable and leaves..runs away..they don’t do that in Alaska ..rub up on each other or something she says.

Girls get catty in the bedroom..typical ANTM cattiness.  Ooh Sheena and Brittany hurt Hannah from Alaska's feelings by defending themselves when says she’s not your typical white girl…Hannah from Alaska then cry’s…

I think the most annoying part of the show is this…“TYRA MAIL TRYA MAIL TRYA MAIL” then there is always a wooooooooooohhhhh!!!!! (very high pitch sounding).

Ok the night continues ..Next Isis has to inject hormones ..Analeigh offers to help..she tells her jokes to make her laugh.. Analeigh and Isis bond.

Girls are modeling a jewelry and handbag designer. Very interesting shoot – they pick out their own accessories and model them. Some weird poses…I think big forehead girl.. Lauren that’s her name..I think she will do well. All the girls seem to pose with their toes…kinda Cirque de Soleil style.  Nikeysha says she has to go to the bathroom. The designer…yeah she’s not impressed. A little too much info.  Nikeysha seriously why does everyone need to know you have to pee? Hush up already!  She’s odd…she won’t do well.  Elina..Daria girl is up and does well.  Hooch aka Sheena is up and decides to place the purse near her um cho cho….oh Sheena. You say you’re not a hooch? Yeah the purse … you shouldn’t have placed it there!!…ok so who wins?….drum roll…  Oooh Elina/Daria chick wins!! surprising ..she wins the first challenge!  She gets to keep her accessories..congrats Daria girl!

Uh oh more TYRA MAIL here comes the wooooooaahhh!!!!!

Then we have more girls talking about the other girls…

Oh dear ...drama to unfold..they ask if Hannah from Alaska is prejudice. Hannah from Alaska crys again… Analeigh concoles her.  She wins the nice girl in the house reward from me. You’re always there Analeigh! Two brownie points for you

Next day. My So-Called Life red hair girl listens to Hannah from Alaksa talk about how she’s misunderstood… McKey  is her name McKey that’s who’s listening. …she says she understands...to me she still looks confused...but ok she tells us she understands Hannah from Alaska

Photo shoot time:

Ooh a hot air balloon!  The girls will do their photo shoot off the balloon…but not in the balloon…a ladder hanging from the hot air balloon.  The girls get their hair and make-up done.  They all have their brief moment with the camera. You can tell they all want this..they all want to be America's Next Top Model.  They continue to look themselves in the mirror…practicing their poses.  Hannah from Alaska still looks like a sad panda though.

Lauren is the first one up.  She’s nervous. Oh dear hot air balloon trouble..wind not working out…plan number two,..girls will hang from a crane!…Lauren does well…other girls are jealous.  Elina/Daria is up – oh dear she’s good too..this one is tricky..I think they’ll be the best of the bunch.

Analeigh is up – she is looking like Avril Lavigne in this one.  She’s not doing well..

Hooch is up aka Sheena – oh my…she needs to try out for burlesque or something…ain’t nothing but a hoochie mamma..that’s all I could think of when she was posing.

Isia is up – they say she’s not looking elegant...shes struggles.

Annoying Nikeysha is up – she’s not classy…at all…she needs to go…why didn’t she go last time? I Hope she goes..

Brittany is up – hmmm I don’t think I like this one very much at all.

Joslyn – very peppy like usual…she does well.

Clark – you almost forget about this one in this episode..she;s the mean one from last time..anyway she does well…I think..

Hannah from Alaska is up – she looks lost..again..and she also looked very scary in her make-up talking to the camera.

Samantha is up –she looks like she’s having trouble

McKey – she doesn’t hold her poses…she needs some guidance

Marjorie – does very well

Uh oh more TYRA MAIL!!! – tomorrow they will meet with the judges and one of them will be eliminated.

Judging time!  Here’s what I think they said:

Analeigh – beautiful..thinking too much..not joining the dream? 

Samantha – they say she has good moves.. but shiny fabric is not her friend

Hannah from Alaska – hmmm she’s nervous

Nikeysha – they say she’s too thin – finally!

Lauren –They like her shot. They are very impressed!

McKey – ooh she does well too...i think she’ll be up there with Lauren

Clark – they say she over bronzed herself for judging– they like her picture though

Isis – they are torn- the judges disagree with one another

Marjorie – looks very European she looks nervous. They are give her compliments which makes her nervous.

Elina/Daria – they compare her shot to Anjelina Jolie.

Sheena  -they say she looks too hoochiliscious and tell her to cover up next time. They ask if her boobs are fake?? Ladies…fake or not?

Brittany – pretty …but average they say

Joslyn – hiiiiiiiii ...she’s so happy all the time

Oops Sheena is back!!! She wants to come forward about her boobs…she tell's us they are fake!

Ok judgment time – when they call them back one will be eliminated…

Bottom two are…Isis and Nikeysha. Hope it’s Nikeysha ...hope it’s Nikeysha..and the name that Tyra calls is…Isis …which means Nikeysha is going home…yea!!! Nikeysha doesn’t take it very well..she said she’s going to be an anesthesiologist…she’s sad…. queue sad music…she doesn’t want to go home…cry cry cry…talk talk talk…cry cry…k please leave……..talk talk talk

Amy's thoughts:

To be honest, I'm not sure I have too many thoughts on this episode.

I found it to be quite tedious and boring - although maybe that is just because I have watched way too many seasons of ANTM now.

I actually watched this episode with my brother who was over visiting me, so the most enjoyable part was hearing my brother say things like 'that girl is way too skinny' and 'she's so skinny - that's disgusting'. 

I found Hannah from Alaska to be the most annoying of all and she just needs to get over herself. Although when she pushed Isis, I could see that she felt bad about it and that she didn't mean to do it, but she didn't know what else to do. I think Isis is not going to stay in the competition long anyway, which is unfortunate because she will bring the drama.

I think this episode lacked any real excitement and I hope the next one is much more exciting.

I think the posing in those red bags was just strange, and the accessories challenge was weird. What was Hannah from Alaska doing with the light fixture?

My favs so far are: Sheena, Analeigh and that one who is from France with the really short white hair, but I can't remember her name.
