Makeover episode!!!  This is always my favorite episode!

Amy's thoughts are in italics

(Amy) - this is totally my favourite episode too!

We start with the girls talking about their past pictures/poses.  They talk about their frustrations.  They all want to be America’s Next Top Model.  They are all nervous…going over everything that may have disappointed the judges. 

Oooh back to the house, and look who is there…it’s Tyra!! (Everyone screams).  Tyra is there in a tiara, waving her wand.  They are all super excited because it’s Tyra!  She makes all the girls put on tiaras.  She talks about her early career days..how her body changed.  How they told her she needed to lose weight..and her mom said no you eat pizza…blah blah blah then oooooh she announces they are all getting MAKEOVERS!!! (everyone screams again).  And J. walks in with a costume on…giving Tyra an apple…really really lame part of the show.  I’m not sure what’s up with all the sets..they are just getting silly and pretty lame.  Jay comes in a costume now..at this point I stopped paying attention .   I hear more screaming….they announce they will do makeovers.

(Amy) I just have to say what is with all the bad costumes? Why are the producers making Tyra and the J's dress like that? It looks cheap and forced and the whole theme of 'rescuing the girls' was corny. I guess they are running out of ideas, but I think they could do a bit better. And if Miss J comes out in one more weird freaky outfit while acting badly and attempting to be funny, I'm not sure I can watch this cycle anymore.

Make-over time at the salon...They announce after they have their makeovers  there will be a quick photo shoot with their new hairdo…

Marjorie – too blond…so they give her brown short spiky hair…oooh she looks different…more edgy..I like it

I liked it too - very European

Joslyn– they give her super long weaves …ok I guess

Pretty predictable if you ask me - which no one did...

Hannah from Alaska – they give her bangs and short chin length hair and darken it…she still looks annoying..this didn’t help much

I think she looked cute - although even more polished and put together

Elina /Daria– talks about how she doesn’t want to look silly..she is concerned about her image..she wants long hair..really long hair… we move on to

Samantha – chop chop chop they cut her hair…they cut it super short…here come the first tears of the episode…but oooh they turn her chair around and she likes it…she thinks she looks like a model…very good makeover! My favorite so far

I love this makeover! I would never be brave enough to do it though

Clark– they darken it..no more blond girl..she is now dark brown…she looks even more sassy..not so sure about this one yet…maybe it’ll grow on me

I don't like her, so I don't like her hair

Lauren – they make her hair more blond…brighter…not that different

No - I thought the after shot was still the before shot actually

Sheena – there can only be one Kimora they say....so they give her highlights

Yeah, so much different.... not

Analeigh - she needs more pop – so they give her layers and poof she looks like Cinderella she’s blond now

I liked her better before - this is the one whose hair I am super jealous of - actually I'll just take it in any colour.

Back to Elina/Daria..she’s worried it’s going to be too drastic…they are giving her weaves.  They say it’s going to be the first in top model history..ever…goth girl is more scared..she asks if they are serious….oooh then they give us a commercial…we must wait.  Ok we’re back

I seriously thought they were going to shave her head - now that would have been exciting!

Elina /Daria – she’s scared…Tyra thinks she looks like Angelina Jolie…so they make her hair red..and wavy..thick and luscious..whoa she is not happy…more tears!  She doesn’t feel like herself…whoa she looks like a mermaid…but she just isn’t happy….we have the breakdown of the season...she doesn’t want to let go of her hair.  She doesn’t look happy in the photo shoot…she’s not happy….no not happy at all

I don't like it - it might grow on me, but I doubt it. It's too mid-80s bad perm job

Then we have McKey ..she's the one with My So-Called life hair– so they give her short black hair…pixy style..nice!

I like!

Isis – they give her longer hair…much better

Yeah, better than the weird mess she had going on before.

Brittany – annoying...they think she needs to be more edgy..they give her  a weave and a wave…she thinks it’s sexy and high fashion.  She wants to stand out she says.

Annoying is the right word. Long hair doesn't make you do that fyi

All in all I think Samantha had the best make-over and Elina/Daria definitely had the worst!

Am in agreement with Stephanie.

Oooh TYRA mail…..(everyone screams)..they go to Wal-Mart …they meet Crissy Barker..spokes model for Cover Girl and married to Nigel Barker.  She reveals Whitney’s ad (winner of Cycle 10) that was displayed in Wal-Mart.  They will do the same thing – photo shoot winner gets an ad for Wal-Mart – they are featuring some new foundation. There is no script – they must give an explanation of the product.  The winner of this commercial shoot will have their ad featured on Wal-Mart’s website...and a Wal-Mart gift card worth $10000!! Girls are excited.  They have to do their own make-up and come up with their own lines.  They each will get 30 seconds..and only one take!

I know it's judgmental to say that I could do better, but really, I could do better. Maybe they were under pressure, but I just think they could at least say something halfway intelligent. Elina definitely had the worst commercial - she was just stuck on even saying anything!

Hannah from Alaska – she does a decent job..annoyingly

She is growing on me - oh barf! Hate to admit that!

Samantha – not too bad

Lauren – not too shabby either

Analeigh  – she stumbles her words…doesn’t make sense

Brittany – lame

Marjorie – says thank God for Walgreens??? Hello wrong store

I know - Come on! This is what I mean about the intelligence factor

Elina/Daria struggles –ooh don’t like the hair at all

And the winner is…Hannah from Alaska– everyone is shocked –super happy girl wins! 

Yeah, not sure she should have won, but I guess she was the best of the worst.

Back at the house…we have TYRA MAIL!!! (everyone screams) which one of you will be America’s Next Top Model...the girls will have another photo shoot tomorrow...

Nighttime – they talk about their moms.  Elina/Daria chick says she hates her mother..on national television…the other girls are pissed…thinks she is a bitch…they are appalled she said she hated her.  Cut to commercial time…ooh we see Whitney’s (winner from last cycle 10) Cover Girl commercial.  She’s advertising eye enhancers or something…not too shabby. You can watch it here

Oh I missed the commercial! Elina is weird - not sure what I think about her. I think she might be one of those girls who wants to be dark and mysterious and tortured, but really she grew up in suburbia with no real issues and with a mum that loved her. I don't like people like that; you can't win any sympathy votes from me. How bad will I feel if something shocking is revealed later in the cycle?

Back to the house…

They are practicing poses.Analeigh, Marjorie and Isis. Then we go to another photo shoot time…they pull up near a beach. Jay Manuel announces it’s a swimsuit photo shoot.  They talk about Tyra being the first black model on Sports Illustrated swim suit edition.  They get the same photographer as her from back then..they all scream again…they are super excited.

I have a super bad headache - the screaming is not my friend

Sheena – I like her hair…gold bikini

Analeigh - red white stripes – she needs to work on her moves and feel more comfortable they say..she needs to educate herself more

Hannah from Alaska – they tell her to relax her eyes..said the came across skitsy…psycho eyes..hahaha funniest part of the show yet…she has a black bikini on.

This was so funny! Her eyes were crazy! Like she was going to kill the photographer or something!

Clark – didn’t recognize her..animal print bikini

Brittany –she worries again..purple bikini said she was painful to watch when she walked. Haha no impression they said

Samantha – white bikini..she’s had the best makeover

Elina /Daria – black bikini – I think she looks like Annie..”the sun will come out tomorrow tomorrow”…yeah totally Annie..we notice she has a tattoo under on her lower stomach.  I will now refer to her as Elina/Annie…no more Daria now that she looks like Annie

Marjorie – she reminds me of Molly Ringwald (Sixteen Candles/Breakfast Club)

Lauren – she’s in pink and reminds me of a Playboy bunny

Isis – nervous about the bathing suit…a lot of pressure.  Silver bikini – they don’t know she is trans gender…they don’t think she has model potential.

She looked like she was asleep! You need to fake it at the very least..

They are all finished.

Back at the house…TYRA MAIL..(everyone screams) They will meet with the judges tomorrow where one of them will be eliminated.  They are all nervous..thinking about how well they did at their photo shoots. 

Judging time

Sheena first – they like her hair – beautiful shot – they are impressed

Analeigh  -her arms are scary they said…tree branches…they say she needs to do more research..

Hahahaha - I said the same thing above!

Clark – they say she looks more interesting.  Say she has to be careful because she doesn’t have a full voluptuous mouth.  They tell her to be careful how she holds it.

I don't think she is pretty - sorry that's mean to say

Hannah from Alaska– they like her cute hair.   They then congratulate her on her win. They say her shoot is European sexy.  She only did one pose over and over though

I don't see 'European sexy' in that shoot

Lauren – blond Playboy bunny …They say she reminds them of Carrie Dee.  They like how she gave them options with her poses.

Brittany – they say she doesn’t look present in her shoots.

McKey – they say she looks like Linda Evangelista…good shoot. She leaned during her pose and said she was the only one to think outside of the box.

She is definitely growing on me

Isis is up – they ask her if she was uncomfortable during the shoot. She said a little bit. But she tried to get comfortable. They say she has a weak eye and that she Looked sleepy and didn’t have a variety of poses.

Marjorie – they said she looks so much younger. They say her ad looks like a boutique hotel ad

Samantha – they love the new hair cut. Sooo much more edgy.  They like how she can “turn it on”.

Elina/Annie – they say for modeling tattoos are normally a bad idea.  They say her hair is one of the most interesting and makes her racially ambiguous. 

I'm not sure how they got racially ambiguous out of that, but ok

Josyln – saying she is doing a hood pose ..I’m confused if they like it or not.

What's a hood pose? I don't remember this

Ok judgment time – when they call them back one will be eliminated…

Bottom two are Brittany and Analeigh …they walk forward…there is only one photo in Tyra’s hands..and that photo represents the girl that is still in the running for America’s Next Top Model..the name she doesn’t call has to pack her belongings and leave immediately…tears are in both their eyes…I hope Brittany leaves…please please please..who stays… Analeigh …yea Brittany is gone!!!!  Woooo whoooo..yea Analeigh bye bye Brittany!!!  When Brittany leaves they tell her she needs to practice more..she takes it well...  She cries to the cameras on her exit…she is sad…I actually feel bad for her..practice Brittany practice!

I thought she took it so well - I would have cried all over the floor and probably embarassed myself really badly. But she was poised and I hope we see her again. I guess it was her time to go, although they could have gotten rid of Hannah from Alaska but then she can't have that fist fight with Isis that I am waiting so patiently for. That is just my prediction - I don't know if that is going to happen just so you know.

Good episode - although the makeover ones always are!
