America's Next Top Model - Cycle 11 Premiere Episode Review

So America’s Next Top Model premiered last night.  Here is NowPublic’s run down for the 14 contestants chosen to compete in ANTM Cycle 11. 

Analeigh

Steph: earthy, hippy chick who was sold to a Saudi prince before…little bit too spacey for me..but the most model like in looks.

Amy: I like her, plus I'm just really jealous of her hair.

Brittany

Steph: from Las Vegas…very pretty...think she'll do well

Amy: I can't remember her? Is she blond?

Clark

Steph: super in love with herself…looks like the villain of the season who I’m sure they’ll keep around for a while just for the added drama.  I don’t like her.

Amy: Uggh, I hate her! She's way too full of herself and doesn't have the goods to back it up. She is going to bring major drama!

Elina

Steph: Vegan- animal rights activist who reminded me of Daria and also Enid from Ghost World…a bit too strange for me. Pretty but not a Cover Girl.

Amy: She scares me and I would not like to be left alone with her. Should get a new crush other than Clark.

Hannah

Steph: oh Hannah from Alaska…”I’m from Alaska I grew up with no electricity or water” all she did was talk about how she was from Alaska…super annoying…pretty…but the most annoying.

Amy: 'I'm from a small town in Alaska' - yeah we know already, move on!

Isis

Steph:  I feel bad for her as most of the girls were rude to her, everyone but McKey . Isis is the first transgender contestant ANTM has ever had. Jarrett previously covered a story on her here.  All the girls were so rude and catty during her photo shoot, making rude remarks.  I give her props for holding her composure and keeping it together.

Amy: I hope she wins so she can shove it all in their faces. I liked her.

Joslyn

Steph: I have no idea if I’ve met this girl, or If I just remember her trying out before. Either way she’s got a likable personality. 

Amy: who is this?

Lauren

Steph: I think this is the cops daughter?  Very pretty without make-up. When they did her up for her photo shoot she looked like a tart though.  She’ll be around for a while.

Amy: I like her - although I am a bit biased to the blonds. Not Clark though.

Marjorie

Steph: whoa awkward social skills.  She moved away from France when she was like 7 then was home-schooled in the states…very very awkward..nervous like a a chihuahua. Very model like in looks but she just shouldn’t even talk because her nerves are too much.

Amy: I LOVE this girl! I hope she wins! She won't because she's too 'European' but I think she can do very well.

McKey

Steph: very pretty – needs to get rid of the My So-Called Life red hair. All I could focus on with this girl was her snarl lip. Every time she talked her lip would go down. She’s our cage fighter..Clark doesn’t like her so much as she asked McKey what bureaucracy was and McKey refused to tell her. Clark doesn’t think she’ll be around for long..i think she’s just jealous.

Amy: I like her, but I think she'll only have one side to her. She needs to find the 'pretty' in being a model. Plus she needs to not talk.

Nikeysha

Steph: She was in the bottom two and deserved to be there.  A little too skinny and weird.  She needs to go next…something about her was annoying.

Amy: I don't remember her either.

Samantha

Steph:  I was surprised they kept her for the chosen 14 as I thought she sounded like a complete airhead in her initial interview and did that weird cat make-up in the photo shoot.  She needs some more guidance then I think she'll do well.

Amy: I think she represents the 'all American girl' so that's why they kept her. She's sweet but too dumb I think.

Sharuan

Steph:  so glad she went.  She reminded me of someone from a previous season who was also annoying. Can’t remember who it was. Nonetheless glad she was booted off.

Amy: so glad she was the first to go! I hate when people insist in the fist episode they are the winner.You're not - we can all see that!

Sheena

Steph:  oh I like her. She’s got a great personality and very much reminds me of Kimora Simmons.  I hope she stays around for a while. 

Amy: I like her too. She added some humour to the episodes.

Amy's point of view on the episode:

I think some of the girls were just kept around for the drama factor. I mean Clark, come on!? Her picture was terrible and she was was too full of herself and should not be in the competition at all. But anyway, at least scary intense bi-sexual chick has a crush on her so that should be interesting.

The episode itself was kind of strange. I didn't like the beginning when it had kind of a spaceship theme and the poor girls had to wear those awful leotard things. Plus, what was up with the two Jay's hair and plastic jackets? For me, the whole thing just looked like a cheap 70s porn set (not that I know what that looks like of course), but you would think a show with that much money would be able to do a better job than that. Maybe they are just getting lazy?

The house in LA that the models get to stay at however is just amazing. I would like to live there, although not with those girls.

I would just like to make a special note about Isis. I say good for her that she is taking this risk and putting herself out there like that. It got so annoying that the girls kept talking about her - get over it already - that's boring tv, move on!

Looking forward to when they do the makeovers – that’s always the best episode.  We’ve defiantly got some Coo coo katchoo’s this season that will make things interesting. Thoughts on who you think will win this season?  Top two or three choices if you’re torn?  My top 3 picks are (and in no particular order) Isis, Brittany and McKey.
