Amy Winehouse Autopsy: How Did She Die?
Amy Winehouse Autopsy Scheduled for July 25
An autopsy is being performed to determine how singer Amy Winehouse died. She was alone in her bed when she died, according to the security guard who discovered her body. Winehouse was unresponsive when he tried to wake her, so he called emergency services.
Amy Winehouse's death was not deemed suspicious. When the news of her passing hit, readers presumed that she died of some sort of overdose. Police, though, say they found no drugs at her home.
Mitch and Janis Winehouse, Amy's parents, visited the improptu shrine outside the singer's house, where fans are leaving everything from flowers and notes to bottles of liquor and cigarettes. They were joined by Reg Traviss, Amy Winehouse's ex-boyfriend.
Mitch Winehouse shook hands with fans and journalists; he is used to his family being on the receiving end of media attention.
"You've got to do what you've got to do," he told journalists. "I know a lot of you, we've been together for five, six years, I know you've got a job to do. I'm glad you're all here anyway.
"And you people in the street, I can't tell you what this means to us - it really is making this a lot easier for us."
