Amy Winehouse Cancels Remaining Tour
Amy Winehouse canceled the remainder of her 12-day European tour, according to her reps on Tuesday, after embarrassingly being booed offstage in Belgrade, Serbia on Saturday night for stumbling around on stage and forgetting the lyrics to her songs.
Winehouse apologized for the incident on Sunday and initially only canceled appearances in Istanbul on Monday and Athens on Wednesday. The singer’s reps reported on Tuesday:
Despite feeling sure that she wanted to fulfill these commitments, she has agreed with management that she cannot perform to the best of her ability and will return home. … She would like to apologize to fans expecting to see her at the shows but feels that this is the right thing to do.
Winehouse just recently left a European rehab program that a representative said prepared her for the upcoming tour. The singer’s rep, Tracey Miller, neither confirms nor denies that she’s using drugs or alcohol again.
