In the manner these things often work out, I did not set out today to write this article, yet here it is. So, in a sense this piece has written itself and I have in some way been merely an intermediary - some guy with an internet account, a computer, and a place to make yet another posting which may be meaningful to myself but perhaps won't be to anybody else. The story goes like this -

While following a link posted by another NP contributor this evening I wound up on YouTube watching the linked video which brough up a page containing a lot of other topically related video links as well. When the first short video had finished I briefly scanned down the list of other clips and found a title irresistable, and so double-clicked it and watched.

It tells the story of a couple of investigative reporters working down in Florida who found out some rather unsettling things about a type of bovine growth hormone produced and marketed by Monsanto. The hormone is used by milk producers to induce their herds to produce substantially more milk than they would have otherwise without any hormone injections.

One of the strange things about watching this piece is that I immediately recognized one of the reporters as one I often see on WXYZ Detroit. Steve Wilson, chief investigative reporter for channel 7 in Detroit, has become a Detroit media personality of sorts. I never really cared for the way I percieved him as getting all up into people's business, but after watching this video I have new respect for the man. I also understand how he came to be working there ...

The Censoring of the Florida Milk Hormone Investigation.

Steve Wilson WXYZ Detroit Bio

Steve Wilson

Chief Investigative Reporter Steve Wilson joined the Action News team in September 2001. He came to Detroit with a national reputation as a solid, direct, no-nonsense reporter and has continued that same approach to his investigations on a wide range of issues here.

And so the story goes on to explain how China milk is affected by this growth hormone that Monsanto sold to Chinese Milk Producers?

Very Good Story here. Emilio
