VANCOUVER -- Vancouver voters are flocking to advance polls, with some saying they were inspired to cast a ballot by the controversy over the current city council's decision to provide up to a $100-million loan to the developer of the Olympic athletes village.

In the middle of a global financial meltdown the last thing any politician needs is the perception that taxpayer money is being wasted. My guess is that Ladner's mishandling of the situation could cost him the election

What has been mishandled here?  You are not honestly saying that these negotiations should be carried out in public are you?  THAT would be the irresponsible thing to do.  The only improper thing being done is by Vision candidsates who are exploiting this issue to try to gain some narrow political advantage during an election.  That is not leadership.  These candidates do not deserve the support of Vancouver voters.
