Anna Kendrick. Rising Star.
Love it or hate it, the Twilight series has opened the doors for the next generation of stars. One of them is 24-year-old Anna Kendrick. In the series, she plays scene-stealer, Jessica Stanley. Now, she's scene-stealing in George Clooney's latest Oscar-bait picture: Up in the Air. In the film, she plays Natalie Keener, a 23-year-old college grad whose hired to reduce costs at a company that specializes in corporate down-sizing. Oh, the irony! While Clooney plays his usual charming self, Kendrick is spunky and provides most of the movie's laughs. Which is amusing since that's what she does in the Twilight franchise as well. So, keep an eye out for her. Her next role is as Stacey Pilgrim in Edgar Wright's adaptation of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
She's funny, can act, and is very good-looking as well. With the success of Twilight and her Oscar-buzz for Up in the Air, don't be surprised to see Kendrick as Hollywood's next leading lady in about two years.
