Anna Paquin Announces She is Bisexual for True Colors Fund
Anna Paquin Tells The World 'I am Bisexual and I Give a Damn'
Anna Paquin, star of HBO's True Blood as Sookie Stackhouse, and currently engaged to her co-star Stephen Moyer who plays Vampire Bill, openly revealed that she is bisexual in a new online campaign for the True Colors Fund. This is an organization dedicated to equal rights for everyone with the theme for this campaign called 'Give A Damn'.
“I’m Anna Paquin. I’m bisexual, and I give a damn.”
The official website of 'We Give a Damn' features videos from celebrities speaking out for equality for all, including Anna Paquin, Mya, Jason Mraz and comedienne Margaret Cho. RadarOnline has the video for the PSA that was taped on January 30th.
According to RadarOnline, organizers of the campaign did not know that Anna Paquin was going to announce her bisexuality and that they were just as surprised as anyone else.
Other celebrities appearing in the same and other PSAs for the campaign include Whoopi Goldberg, Elton John, Sharon Osbourne, Kim Kardashian and Cynthia Nixon, and Cyndy Lauper who co-founded the True Colors Fund.
The organization wants to promote equality for all people and wants to engage all communities to ensure a 'strong and vibrant LGT community'.
Anna Paquin won an Oscar at the age of 11 for her role in The Piano, but went through a series of lesser roles before making a big comeback in HBO's True Blood. Season 3 of the popular show starts this June and fans cannot wait.
