Announcement to Open:The Institute of Nonviolence: Est. by: Jesus of Nazareth, Mahatma Gandhi, Thomas Merton and Rev. King by djermano

By: Rev. Jermano

I am making the announcement to open The International Institute of Nonviolence. The Founding Fathers are Jesus of Nazareth, Mahatma Gandhi, Thomas Merton, and Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. It is not a Religious Institute, but a Society Institute that looks to religion and ethics as the main direction and outlook that States and Nations should adopt in their on going duties and development.

Our mission and study goals for students are to learn about instituting nonviolence in society.

Students learn the teachings of Jesus, Mahatma, Merton and Martin, Nelson Mandela, and Desmond Tutu. We learn that Rev. King is one of the Founding Fathers of America with Thomas Merton, because they brought civil rights to the people, especially Black Americans. They are leaders who practiced and preached nonviolence.  Martin gave his life for it. We learn how Presidents who support violence to push their agendas are not examples to leadership nor meet the qualifications toward achievement and success.

We want students in America and around the world to learn from The International Institute of NonViolence Established by Jesus of Nazareth, Mathatma Gandhi, Thomas Merton and Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. We will learn different languages, and seek to understand the means and ways to root out racism in our society. We learn about perseverance, patience, reconciliation, and culture. It is my hope to get support in developing this University.

Our University goals are to educate about true history, and show how violence in the worlds time of history toward today have failed. We teach the good ideals to not owning a gun, and not supporting objectives or Insitutes that say guns stop crimes. Clearly they don't.

The International Institute of Nonviolence helps students achieve their careers as educators in the field of nonviolence and become living modern day examples of Jesus, Mahatma, Merton, and Rev. King. We are an Institute of hope, and with this; have faith our students will come to learn from  this benevolent Insitution. We are the place to go and attend instead of the military. Instead of military training and obstacle courses, we have picnic activities, grow gardens have  sports, and teach toward self awareness. We support kids, students, adults in their development.

I ask you for help in developing, and permission to obtain Rev. Kings and Thomas Mertons authority in naming the Institute after them. Our goal is to start from online websites building a concensus of support. We have no such Institution in the United States or in the World for that matter, and people tend to think Religious Universities fill that need. Clearly they don't, when most Religions in the USA appear to support violence and acts of War, when their governments take them to the brink. To me they are not religions.

The International Institute of Nonviolence, makes it clear of what we do and what we support.
I hope to hear from everyone and your board members to begin this great Nonviolence Institute so we as a people have a place in our hearts to focus on in concern to correct living principles established by Jesus of Nazareth, Mahatma Gandhi, Thomas Merton and Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. I look forward to hear from you. djermano@yahoo.com

Sincerely,
Rev. Dom Jermano

March 24, 2008 update:
By: Rev. Jermano

Our realization is that we have had men before us who have passed away that are hero's and real figures in ending wars and violence.  The ones that come to mind are Jesus of Nazareth, Mahatma Gandhi, Thomas Merton, and Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. In our present time we have Nelson Mandela, and Desmond Tutu.

Our leaders are getting older and we need to realize that we need more than a handful to watch over our world in promoting Nonviolent Peaceful Action. It is a great responsibility, that we have neglected for too long. We have let down Israel and Palestine, and other regions in the world, because our focus has been on creating money and wealth to support National Militaries. There is no hope for the world when we continue on this path. We need to guide our society away from the virtues of military violence and force, and move toward more of a genuine peace oriented society, that does not need to worry about violence erupting because of our lack of recognizing created Institutes that support Nonviolence. We need to create this International Nonviolent Institute.

In discerning the Founding Fathers; they all reflected toward the Religious aspects because of Jesus and his coming to the world to absolve men from their sinful nature.

When searching for guidance, people tend to focus on the government as the answer to our suffering from violence in the world. And while America's party always parades its conviction of less government, certainly it is the greatest hoax in US history, when they spend more money on their military than all the combined countries in the world. How is that a sign of less government? The American Government always supports more military spending for violence or the threat thereof instead of establishing Nonviolent spending avenues. They claim nonviolence makes them appear weak. But really; it is because they don't know what nonviolence is or how to do it to be successful. They take it for granted that they know what it is. They think it means not to fight. But it means more than just that.

My solution to this is to create an International Institute of Learning that is not a Religious Preference School. This way the world will have future people who can step in to replace our great Nonviolent leaders who have become old and passed away. Of course Jesus is not dead and is the meaning to life, but we need more good people who represent nonviolence and its message to the world as time always moves forward.

"The International Institute of Nonviolence" will have people who will now have a sense of spiritual hope in a State Organization that takes upon its goals to stop violence through peaceful efforts. This will be the first Institute of Nonviolence anywhere in the world. When we can focus on the problem which is violent and give a response to it through nonviolence, proof shows that nonviolence wins the peace.

Of course I would want the 4 greatest leaders of our time to be the Original Founding Fathers of this Institution, naming Jesus of Nazareth, Mahatma Gandhi, Monk Thomas Merton, and Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. along with full study courses on their lives and thoughts in achieving their nonviolent nature.

We don't know enough about the real learnings to nonviolence, or how to do it. People have always fought and killed as their means to surviving in the world. I think the Institute of Nonviolence will change that. Where or what Schools and Universites do they teach nonviolence? It is seldom heard of, only through religious organizations..and most religions are not the same...so they tend to not support each other.

But I think if  The International Institute of Nonviolence is established; religions will mesh and support the aspect to the betterment of society because they have learned the good rewards from Nonviolence. But there needs to be a focal point and University that makes that claim and offers courses and full life support toward this endeavor.

Think of its significance if a Chapter of The International Institute of Nonviolence is located in Israel and Palestine. Think of it in Kosovo. People are always ready to attack the UN and Embassies throughout the world, but I think it would not happen to a University that stressed Nonviolence. Our governments do not do enough to promote nonviolence, and that is why we fail in the world. People just don't know what is nonviolence.

Think of its relationship to China and the Tibet problems. China would allow it because it is not a religion organization, and certainly they would welcome anything that supports avenues of peace and acts of nonviolence.

The International Institute of Nonviolence would teach children, teenagers, adults the methods toward controlling anger, respecting each other, looking beyond the immediate pain and forging an attitude that we are all humans seeking to have comradeship instead of retaliation and hate for the enemy, that resonates bad feelings. We need not look toward suffering bad consequences when we support nonviolent education. Only good results from this endeavor.

I am talking about making a First Class Educational Insititute that supports families, communities, and becomes the New life to Government leaders who will be more in tune to real people issues and not be war fanatics and indiscriminately kill people for the sake of whatever.

No life is worth being killed by whatever reason there maybe.

The International Institute of Nonviolence would be recognized throughout the world, and be a light to all Government Organizations. Government Organizations would welcome it because it is not about religion, but is about Nonviolence.

How great to be able to not allow kids to play with toy guns or real guns for that matter; but give them a flashlight as a reminder to their purpose in doing good toward the auspices of nonviolence. Look out for each other, instead of killing each other is the light of hope and faith. Only then will our young youth come forward as Nonviolent Future Leaders, to assure peace is never imposed but is genuinely established.

The immeditate issue then is how to do this? How to find a place to do this? How to get support for it while getting the word out, and actually begin a process in its development. There will be gardens and other activites in sports, with good libraries for students to study and learn. Nonviolent Law Degrees could be earned, along with other real curriculums that support Nonviolent action.

The main and important aspect of this is to have an International Nonviolent Institute that represents Nonviolence and shows how serious the people are in wanting a nonviolent society. If we continually rely on a a military government type society...it brings no hope to the people. Democracy becomes a hopeless ideologue with nothing but guns and bullets and intimidation toward others. It is not a sense of well being of brotherly exchange. Our mission as a people is to remove the military machine in knowing that we as a people are intelligent enough to avert destroying each other. We have militaries because we have no trust or faith in each other. This is our failure. If we are Christians we need to learn that without trust and friendship society is doomed toward destruction. It is more the need to have the First International Institute of Nonviolence, to realize that promise and dream.

So this would be my idea.  I have hope instead of wealth to establish it. I am poor in the purse but rich in the heart, and perhaps if some people you know that have influence in society that will see the great need and value to this for our people in the world; I earnestly hope and pray they and you will jpin us.

I will be the first to support; with my humble human ability.. With the Lords Blessings, I hope to hear from you.

Sincerely,

Rev. Jermano
