Antwon Tanner, One Tree Hill Actor, Sold Social Security Numbers
Antwon Tanner, an actor from the popular show 'One Tree Hill' pleaded guilty in a Brooklyn federal court today to illegally selling social security numbers for $10,000. He could face up to 10 years in jail if convicted.
He was charged in April with selling 16 numbers and three fake cards to immigration officers that were working undercover and running a sting operation. Antwon Tanner told Judge Carol Amon that he was the middleman in the operation, but that he knew what he was doing was illegal as the numbers would be used to illegally buy goods.
He is also under investigation in California, but it is not known why.
Tanner's acting credits have included a high-profile role in "Coach Carter," starring Samuel L. Jackson, and cameos on TV shows ranging from "NYPD Blue" to "CSI" and "Boston Public."
He is likely to get between 6 and 12 months and perhaps a fine of up to $250,000. Antwon Tanner has no comment on the matter; sentencing is on November 20th.
