s it me or do we appear to be having a “moral panic” around social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter? Personally I think it the age old adult trait of ” if you don’t understand it…slam it” maybe if we do this enough the youth will get it!

Social networking has become a part of who youths are and what they do, so it's here to stay that's for sure. Whether these sites are good or bad really depends on how they are used.
I think a major problem parents and teachers face with youths using these sites is that kids just don't know better about things sometimes...and adults don't know how to teach them. We all know kids assume a lot, so we need to counteract this. Another huge catch 22.
In my humble opinion, something needs to happen where either the adults figure it out (highly unlikely) or someone steps up to educate the kids. Thoughts?
