Comedian Artie Lange has reportedly been hospitalized for undisclosed reasons. A spokesperson for the popular comic and Howard Stern co-host confirmed that Artie Lange has indeed been hospitalized.

We can confirm that Artie is in the hospital," said Lange's reps in a public statement. "Artie has chosen to keep all information on this matter between him and his doctor. There will be no further comment."

The lack of information from Lange and his managers will no doubt lead to speculation as to why Artie Lange is in the hospital. The comedian has gone through a very public battle with substance abuse, talking about it openly on the air with Stern.

Lange has not appeared on the Stern show since early December. He had also canceled several stand-up performances. According to his official website, all Artie Lange stand-up performances have been canceled until the end of February.

No doubt Artie's legion of fans wish him a speedy and lasting recovery.
