'Astro Boy' Adds to Star-Studded Cast

Update: according to IMDB, Kristen Bell is joining the Astro Boy cast, voicing the"female lead character" (Uran, ostensibly). Veronica Mars, Astro Boy... it makes sense.

Previously: Astro Boy is getting the big-screen treatment, and the lead character will be voiced by a certain Freddie Highmore, who shot to fame alongside Johnny Depp in Finding Neverland and Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. The film will be created with 3D animation, as opposed to traditional drawing-based animation.

I only know Astro Boy through hipper-than-thou pop-culture references, and have never actually seen the cartoon or the comic on which it was based. Called "Astro Boy" in the West, the series is originally known as "The Mighty Atom".
